One thing I’m finding interesting is the new events. Now there’s more than one Enlightened / Lifebound / Void / Mechana event, so the cards which read (for example) “if the current event is Void…” now refer to more than one event. Some of the new events are a lot stronger than the old ones. In particular Cosmic Protocol is a much bigger deal than Hedron Rising most of the time.
Ditto for me too. I didn’t even bother announcing my wins for this month. I lost track of time (didn’t realize the month was ending – where has summer gone already?) and didn’t have enough wins to compete with the top dogs anyway.
I’d rather fart around with the new deck at this point.
I’m up for doing all 3 and 4 next month. The only potential worry I see is excluding people who haven’t bought the expansion, assuming there are any of those?
I also echo the appreciation for the new events. They are cool in and of themselves, and the added variety of events is also more fun.
I’m now sending out invites for 3&4 when my current games end. Buy the expansion, people! (Or resend another invitation if you don’t want to.)
Even playing SoS, you could tell that the limited number of events were just a placeholder to be expanded in the future. Having multiple events for each uh…color, is a huge improvement, because it lets cards with special abilities values fluctuate more within a single game (rather than, e.g. banishing mushroom being kind of useless if Arha event has already passed)

OK. I think I have a plan to make “annie peeps” account work again. I already had an Agricola account with a different name. Now I have 2 account names for Ascension! I have to finish out my old games under the new name, but I can create all the new games under “annie peeps”. I’ll need to invite all the new playdek names to my “annie peeps” account manually. This isn’t as big a deal as I thought at first since it turns out I do not have to know email addresses.
So if anyone wants to play with annie, let me know your Playdek name! Multiple accounts could be interesting…? I get to start fresh on stats! The best part is I get to friend myself! :O) …but then I’ll always lose… :(
Are a lot of people finding their name has changed with the new accounts? Would it be a good idea to start a new thread or something to get the new account names?
One subtle addition I really like is the addition of faction watermarks to each card whose effect is influenced by Events. Very handy!
I got the update and the expansion earlier this morning! Playdek name is still the same, ironcub14.
Maybe those whose Playdek names are different from their GC names can post in the thread, and one of the OPs can have a list of our Qt3/GC/Playdek names.
I do see guys like Sinnick with his new Playdek name in my Ascension friends list. But I also saw that I lost about 3 pages worth of GC friends from Ascension after the update, who I guess havent updated their game yet.
What I’m really curious is how I should go about adding ppl I don’t have on GC yet. I’m wondering if I just add them on Ascension/Playdek only, or if I will also have to add em on GC as well. Who’s got a second GC name I can experiment on? :)
I thought they had that for SoS as well :) Like Elemental Adapt and Shadowcaster!
For July, I would say that we shouldn’t have to impose any conditions that we have to own IH or play SoS+IH for the whole month.
We shouldnt have to exclude anybody who doesnt want to buy IH (even though it does cost less than your food court lunch), and I would love to also try out CotG+IH, RotF+IH or any other crazy combo we can think of.
But there will probably be a Stone Blade tourney soon after the release, so I would definitely send/prefer invites with SoS+IH as well!
If the watermarks already existed in SoS, I don’t remember seeing them. Maybe my vision’s worse than I thought!
I think that I’ll just see who wants to PREFER Immortal Heroes games for July, as opposed to mandate that everyone play with that deck.
