June Playoffs:
pacman over Gus_Smedstad 110-73 (+37)

I got a Combustion Idol powered up early, and then added a Dream Machine. Two extra cards a turn is pretty impossible to beat, nice game.

What is this newfangled madness?! Why, back in my day, we just challenged whoever we wanted, and we had to announce every challenge in the thread, and we liked it!

But I suppose I’ll just stick with the default best of three. I have purchased the expansion and registered for a Playdek account as Boojum. Any other crazy new rules since the last time I played that I should know about?

Thanks bigdruid, I thought that was an awesome game from both of us. I feel like that was a basketball game where you took a 15-pt lead going into HT, but I hoarded the banishers and it made a difference in the late game, but I needed a Hail Mary 3-pointer… Great great game.

prolix over Pacman 79-74 (+5) despite Pacman killing like eleventy thousand asps. Much teeth gnashing in that game as my big lead kept evaporating every turn. Early Henge Queen almost wasn’t enough!

Nice game prolix, the FHQ just came up (precisely one) too many times for me. That is at least two games in these playoffs that my opponent has picked up an early FHQ, and unsurprisingly I lost both :-p

GG! You know, that was definitely a weird one, but I thought it perfectly reflected a playoff game. Ultra-conservative play from both of us resulted in both of us hoarding a ton of Mystics and Infantries.

It’s like the NBA playoffs vs the Rookie Challenge, where we throw down a string of 10 cards at each other’s faces and dares the other one to do one better, lol
