1st test at Edgbaston.

Australia won the toss, and bat first.

Ideal conditions ;)

England 1 Jason Roy, 2 Rory Burns, 3 Joe Root (capt), 4 Joe Denly, 5 Jos Buttler, 6 Ben Stokes, 7 Jonny Bairstow (wk), 8 Moeen Ali, 9 Chris Woakes, 10 Stuart Broad, 11 James Anderson

Australia 1 David Warner, 2 Cameron Bancroft, 3 Usman Khawaja, 4 Steve Smith, 5 Travis Head, 6 Matthew Wade, 7 Tim Paine (capt & wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 James Pattinson, 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Peter Siddle.

No Starc or Hazlewood for Australia. No Jofra for England.

Warner edged his first ball behind but it wasn’t given, and no review from England. Surprised he didn’t walk, being the bastion of fair play that Australia are these days.

edit: only cost England two runs at least :)

edit2: lol, wasn’t even out according to hawk eye. bloody love cricket, me

Warner looked Hella nervous. The old firm of Smith Khawaja look steady.

I’m going to shut up now.

Decent recovery. Ben Stokes has been dreadful.

Oof, Jimmy has aggravated his injury. Wonderful.

Guy is incredible. But is also 37. Stokes is bowling pies. Woakes is going to bowl alot.

Jiminy!

Woakes can bowl all day fortunately. Get in, son!

It’s all happening!

Into the tail!

Sick of Peter Siddle. He always seems to cause England bother. Looking forward to him retiring from test cricket.

Steve Smith is just something else. Bonkers.

Predictable

Quite a knock, but also superlative effort from the tail to hang around and let it happen.

Just like Agar did in 2013…

A fascinating day 2, old school test cricket. Still finely poised, Australia could get into them early and knock them over for 325 or so. England will want 400 at least, I don’t fancy facing Lyon late on this wicket with 200+ to chase. Great innings from Rory Burns today.

Rain forecast could cruel what has been a real corker of a game so far. Both sides right in this.

That Moeen ball that got Paine is terrible news for England. Lyon is going to romp home.

Only one team can win now, what a turnaround.
