That seems like an issue in most games with bosses where none of your special abilities do much and you just spam the basic offensive move and try to live long enough to win.

Didn’t the siren’s power do incredible damage to a boss in Borderland’s 2? Is my memory that short? I recall my siren crushing people with her singular power.

This game’s insistence on trying to make you feel bad for killing people is very odd considering: 1) there’s virtually no other way to interact with the world 2) the entire skill tree is about different ways to kill people and 3) it’s a game called Assassin’s Creed. I really don’t get what they were going for there, but it takes me out of the game every time they do it because it’s just so farcical.

Heck, on at least two occasions I’ve deliberately ended a scripted fight with a non-lethal attack only to have the game treat it as though I killed the person anyway. You can’t win!

For the record, in my response to you Vin I misspelled “farcical” such that I just decided to say hello and hope you are doing well. Fred and I have 20 - eleven astronomical anomalies to try and test you with. But I guess that may not fly anytime soon.

My problem with AC:Ody is just I am not that great of a action gamer… I can rpg and min/max stuff for my poor Kassandra --then I am forced to dodge and stuff. Sigh. Well I may try again. I really love the main character. Such a strong female lead.

Hi Kristi. You and Fred CAN ask those questions without Tom streaming a game next to it, you know. I mean, I miss that too, obviously, but still…

I’ve really enjoyed it for the most part, but there are some definite frustrations and peculiarities sprinkled throughout. Then again, that’s kind of characteristic of the series as a whole, for all that this barely feels like an AC game in most other respects.

Still, 85 hours and still going. I’m working my way through the Hidden Blade DLC at the moment, which seems well done.

Nope, not on the really big bosses that were sort of set off in their own “arenas”. The singularity power was totally worthless, supposedly even if it didnt’ lift them, it did damage but when I played it seemed rather insignificant.

So, played around with this for the past few days since it was FTP this weekend, and have more or less decided to pull the trigger on it while it’s on sale and I’m still in the mood to Greek out.

What is the consensus on the DLC - is it worth spending extra to get the Gold or Ultimate edition? I always enjoy the AC games, but don’t often manage to finish them any more - simply too much pointless “storytelling” in there gated behind tedious missions to keep me interested to the very end, so if this is all end of game content (which looks to the be the case), I might as well just save the money for that, or wait for the DLC to come on deeper sale.

Dlc was skippable. First one had some controversial story bits and second was grindy. It’ll take you a long time to get there in any case :)

Thanks. Grindy end-game contents sounds very much like something I’m never going to get around to playing anyway, so that made the decision very simple.

I really enjoyed the game but for the first time (I usually always buy DLC and enjoy them), these are skippable. I did like the first one (though many didn’t because of a forced choice) and the last one I have not finished because it is very grindy and repetitive. Great game, loved it.

I’ve had a nightmare, my cloud save corrupted and i’ve lost 15 hours of game play so from 75 hours to 60, don’t have the heart to re do it.

Yeah, I’ve had that happen with Uplay games. It’s worth backing up the save game folder for them frequently.

Post-virus? My thinking is this game is a perfect time sink. I loved it but you know… it just kept adding stuff. But now? why maybe its time to sharpen my Cassandra!

Uh-oh, now you have me worried about my saved game.

-Tom

I am worried bout mine as well. I think I was heading to crete…… level 30 maybe? Virus Cassandra!

I heart this game. Have taken a million pictures of my adventures. Fear sharks!

I have over 140 hours into this game and there’s no end in sight! I guess I should focus on the main story but there’s just so much to do and explore, it’s easy to get distracted. I haven’t been teleporting that much, or even using my horse, because I enjoy taking my time and walking around, admiring the views. My backlog has grown tremendously (wasn’t there a Star Wars game I’m supposed to play?) but oh well!

Same. I spent about 60 hours till I temporarily quit for other games…just spent a good part of that exploring…so cool.

Look at this bounty’s level in red. Is this a bug? There is no way I will ever hit level 94.

Nope. Not a bug. The max level since the last big update is 99.
