Super excited. The trailer shows too damn much IMO, but this is way up there on my list for 2024 because the pack-in demo ASTRO’s Playroom for PS5 is so damn much fun!

Totally in - loved AstroBot’s Playroom. Always wished I could play the VR game.
Anyone know when reviews for this are dropping?
Embargo ends tomorrow I think.
95 average on Opencritic, pretty damn good!
Pretty amazing to be in the top 0% of games.
Dave you are in the Top 0% of posters for me on QT3.
I think I might pick this up even if I hardly touch the PS5 these days, might be a good excuse.
Ha! Thanks!
Did you play the pack-in game with the PS5 Astro’s Playroom? This will be more of that, and that was amazing.
Yes I completed that, it was nice and perfect length for my short attention span.
It’s just the right length and introduces something fun and new all the time. I suspect this will be similar. I’m avoiding these reviews though. I don’t want to be spoiled.
Preloaded! 10 hours until it unlocks.
I just read that Astro’s playroom has a countdown party tonight. I need to check this out.
I’m surprising my kids with this game and the tie-in controller on Friday night after a baseball camp. One of them in particular loves Playroom.
Put in a couple of hours on this last night - it is exactly what I was expecting and that’s a very good thing. Lots of level variety, a TON of really cool DualSense effects, great music, and looks amazing. Looking forward to putting in more time this weekend.
Each level has bots to rescue as well as 3 puzzle pieces to find. The bots are not all easy to find (I have not gotten all of them on a level yet), and the puzzle piece mechanism reminds me a lot of Banjo-Kazooie.
The nice thing about the puzzle pieces is that they are not specific or parts of sets. You unlock things in the hub with them, but any puzzle piece from any level will advance your progress in a linear fashion. Very friendly choice they made there.
I’ve also played a few hours and have been having a lovely time.
If the brief was “more Astro Playroom” then they absolutely nailed it. This might knock Sackboy’s Big Adventure off it’s perch as my favourite platformer.
My 6 year old son 100% Astro’s playroom (had to help him on the last boss 6 months ago). So I decided to play this vicariously through him.
Then he proceeded to get to the first world boss without waiting for me to finish work…
I played through the first boss today and it’s magical, same as Playroom was before it. The way they use the controller and make you feel one with it and the game is simply unmatched.
