ATI General-Purpose GPU's taking on AGEIA for gaming physics

Anyone see this article on tech report, regarding ATI’s GPU’s handling in-game physics? http://techreport.com/onearticle.x/8887

Not a lot of info yet, but I’d certainly love to see physics processing integrated into the GPU, rather than requiring a separate dedicated physics card. It’s not that rosy a picture however, as ATI’s conceit is to use Crossfire, with one GPU for video and the 2nd for physics.

This actually makes sense… the GPU easily rivals the CPU in terms of flops, so instead of throwing your old cards out it’d be an awesome idea to make you use them for physics!
