Wow, poor Roger. I thought he would breeze past 14 but now it’s getting harder+harder with not only Nadal getting better on faster surfaces, but with Djoko and Murray also believing they can beat him. Roger used to win matches almost by reputation.
That 5th set was bad, almost as bad as the podium ceremony. Trying to beat his nemesis and chasing 14, just too much pressure.
Nadal is a warrior. His heart and determination more than makes up for Federer’s greater natural talent. His game is still a defensive one, often relying on chasing down balls. I can already notice he’s not as fast as he once was and I hope he doesn’t wear himself out and instead focuses more on the Slams.
