In recent P&R posts from you I’ve seen, you start off hostile and defensive and accuse the other posters of arguing in bad faith and being closed-minded. Kind of like, you know, you did in this thread just now.

If that’s your starting point, why are you surprised when people tend to respond in kind?

As IainC points out, there are a number of non-liberal posters in P&R who get perfectly reasonable responses to their posts. You don’t feel that you do.

Yeah, I have a problem with assertions that aren’t backed up with evidence. That’s what I was responding it in this thread because I think accusations of racism without a factual basis are dangerous things.

And yeah, my writing style is quite blunt. Since helpful folks like you tell me thick skins are important for posters, one might expect the reverse might me true, but nope. That’s why I take care to include language intending to indicate respect for the person I am responding to if I believe they are engaging in a good faith conversation.
