Easy, easy. Like Angie said, I bumped this thread because El Guapo told me he was banned. I like it just fine around here, sheesh.

I just dropped the laptop in the hot tub. Tonight I’ll be eating some taco bell in the parking lot.

Ladies.

It’s pretty sick. Things like 2 bats and a pig doing unnatural acts to each other.

Depends who you are. All the women I know on there got skeevy IMs until they turned off the feature and penis pictures from random guys.

I’m also banned, FYI.

Yeah. There is always that kind of message board poster who seems to be there to conscientiously practice rude behavior, excusing bad behavior by thinking, “hey, if I can be witty or somehow clever when I’m being an ass, it’s okay, even good, to do so.” My response to these people nowadays is usually just to ignore them (by hitting the “ignore poster” button in a handful of very rare cases).

When you have one poster doing this, it usually doesn’t continue. When you have a group of posters who are supporting each other in their efforts of being jerkoffs, things change. To some extent this kind of thing can be a way that a board polices itself, but it can also become a kind of mob rule, where ideas and perspectives on individual posters take on a life of their own, and if you’re outside of the clique, you’ll never feel welcome on the message board while they conscientiously gang up on you.

Having been on many boards for two decades now, I’ve been on both sides of this treatment in various places. And at this point, it’s really obvious where the line is to me. And Tom has been very, very restrained with the “ban” button around here. I haven’t seen anyone get the axe who didn’t clearly deserve it.

Which is why a lot of the “Hey, what did THAT guy do wrong?” chat befuddles me. I mean, do you people really not understand how you’re supposed to treat others? Is respect for others really so difficult to understand?

Welp, I’m an idiot.

I changed my email address in user setting and apparently until you verify by checking that email that it doesn’t let you look at the forum when logged in. It comes up with a “your account has been deactivated” screen.

Whoops! Sorry about that.

I’m banned too. And so is my wife Spartacus.

Nice job dumbass

HAHA! That is great.

Sticky, actually, since the percentage of people in there actually finding partners to go steady with is something around 8.49%

So what have we learned from this thread?

The most banned poster by far is… someone else.

Yeah, that was a real bonehead move. The thing is I don’t use that email very often (I use the one I signed up with here so infrequently Yahoo deactivated it) so I didn’t think to check it. I just assumed it would change it in the background without requiring validation. Weird trick vBulletin does, that.

Clearly Tom should start randomly banning people to see what kind of Yentaing results.

Can we get special section in the upcoming graphic, “thought I was banned”.

I met my girlfriend of four years and counting on OkCupid, so I’m going with it not being icky at all!

I met my girlfriend on Plenty of Fish, and that is as close to defending it as I will ever get.

Why wait for him to do it? Just get a circle of folks together, have them change their e-mail (perhaps as they go on vacation) and wait for the supposition and innuendo to swirl. It’s like a new and fresh take on that whole werewolf game motif!

Hopefully next time ElGuapo will change his email to an invalid address.
