My guess would be that this was a matter of convenience more than Tom being pissed off. Specifically, I bet Qt3’s recent coverage created a huge influx of new accounts to vet and Tom just didn’t want to deal with it.

Tom hasn’t been vetting anyone for awhile anyway. He just mass adds people every few months. It’s not really any different.
