Yeah, but almost all the RIP threads end up with some sort of dick comment and those posters don’t get banned over it. I don’t see why this one should be any different.

I’m loathe to get between the dog and his meat, but Tom must be grinding his molars into dust with the way people have behaved in a few threads this past week. And Tom has mentioned a few times that usually people get banned for the crap they spew at him in PMs when he asks them to calm down. More often, the ban is not a result of an exchange you and the other yentas can see happening on the board.

Good rule of thumb is unless you’re posting your sympathies stay the hell out of memorial threads. Your brilliant insight isn’t wanted by the bereaved and hangers-on.

A lot of bannings seem to be “body of work” bannings.

Which leads to the underwhelming drama in some final posts.

Nobody notices the poor paraplegic camel underneath it.

If I had to guess, I’d point to the “discussion” in the Gaming Journalism thread yesterday. Not sure where he crossed a line by himself, though. We’ll probably never know.

I just skimmed the thread a bit and he seems to be harping on and on about some Leigh on Giantbomb’s podcast and then made a stupid comment about Tom and Top 10 Lists on Fidgit. Reckon he could have taken it down a few notches…
