Soooo, we’re allowed to talk about bans in this thread now without fear of getting banned ourselves, right? Ok, here goes nothing…
I’ve been kinda bummed recently over what happened to NOOU. NOOU got banned (understandably) in early August for antagonizing Tom. We all know that.
A few weeks later after Qt3 opened up registration the guy made a new account under his real life name. He was on his best behavior and only used the account to talk football in the NFL thread and in the Madden Qt3 league thread. He never even tried to hide that he used to be NOOU.
Anyway, a few days ago someone “outed” him in BC’s “post here if you haven’t been banned” thread, and shortly after Tom banned the new account.
I’m just sad now that the account NOOU made under his real life name was banned even though he was on his best behavior, and now he can’t play in the Madden league anymore. :(
I was hoping he’d get a second chance under a RL name, but I guess not.
It’s not accounts that are banned, it’s the person behind the account. If he wants to come back, he needs to talk to Tom about it and sort that out.

Oh man I feel terrible about this. I think I was the one that outed him but it’s not like I was revealing some secret or something, he publicly said himself in one of his first posts under the account (damien something?) that he used to be NOOU :(

It wasn’t really your fault. Damien thought Tom knew who he was and was ok with it, that is why he wasn’t trying to be super secret or anything.
Don’t know anything about that aspect of it. Perhaps the recent kerfuffle(s) will shake out a bit more clarity there.
I only mention it explicitly because some boards do it differently and consider things on a by-account basis unless/until somebody gets so out of control annoying that typical rules no longer apply. May well have been a Grand Pronouncement of the Obvious, in which case, sorry for the noise.

Tom’s stance on this is made pretty clear in the rules:
In the event that it simply doesn’t work out and your account remains closed, there’s nothing to stop you from starting a new account. Just don’t let me find out about it.

I just made a chimichanga. Sort of. Close enough, anyway, I just had to fry it up more triangle-like since I had to do it per side (worked out great anyway). The ends bits were soft, but all around was nice and crispy. Peppered roast beef, cheese, hot sauce, refrieds, and mashed potatoes as a lining to help it stick. Turned out I didn’t need the potatoes, but I don’t care because they were delicious.
Deadpool would be proud, but also insist I use a flamethrower next time if I don’t have a deep fryer.
