It literally ranks before the right to bear arms, yes. The “nazis” in your example are able to have freedom of speech and that they have it is tremendously important. At the very least, if you don’t tolerate speech that is abhorrent in the public arena in terms of what government permits, there are a wide variety of possible problems that arise for “legitimate” speech and dissent. That does not affect what people are able to and in fact should be encouraged to do in privately controlled environments. In those scenarios, there is absolutely no conflict with isolating or otherwise punishing people for views you find reprehensible, within reason, especially if it is in the spirit of community standards (which are even an accepted limit on the 1st Amendment in specific scenarios, along with the time, manner and place of the speech in question). Qt3 has never made any pretense of anything other than attempting to tolerate diversity of views within its community and moderator standards, which are only human in the end.

On a side note, it is important to realize that time, manner, and place are crucial limitations on freedom of speech in the US. While that does not include Delta’s standard of “hurtful speech” (thankfully, for the unintended consequences of that would be catastrophic), it does include the ability for even government to use “go ahead and be yourself, just not here and now” and remain within the bounds of the 1st Amendment.

I’m really curious why you’re tilting at this windmill. You seem to have the kind of contempt for qt3’s community that rarely arises from a brief acquaintance with any site, and certainly not over the flushing of some random internet turd.

It’s called confirmation bias, son. If you are predisposed to hate Asian people, you will notice when Asian people bump into you because that notion is in your head and looking for external confirmation wherever and whenever possible.
