He is 100% correct to draw some parellels between the Irish and blacks. There are parallels. There are also differences. Rather than be a douchebag, how about if you ask some questions to see how far he takes the comparison? I have a feeling that it won’t be as lol-worthy as you seem to think.

From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English and another 300,000 were sold as slaves. Ireland’s population fell from about 1,500,000 to 600,000 in one single decade. Families were ripped apart as the British did not allow Irish dads to take their wives and children with them across the Atlantic. This led to a helpless population of homeless women and children. Britain’s solution was to auction them off as well.

No, he got a week. Initially was a month.
It would be impossible to draw a direct equivalence, which is why no one is doing that. But there are many analogous aspects to the way blacks were perceived historically in the US, certainly moreso than with the white cultural groups at the top and middle of American/European social strata. It wasn’t that long ago that you could pick up a respectable newsmagazine and see the connection.

Yeah, I said pretty much the same thing a couple of pages ago. This thread (finally) serves as a place to discuss moderation and bans in a public way.
