Here’s a good rule. If you feel you have to qualify your post with “apologies if this is offensive” just don’t post it. You are clearly aware that it’s offensive, so why do it? Now there will always be things that offend people, and you may not be aware of them. For example, the use of a common racial slur used earlier in the thread offended Jerri, even though that was not the intent. But using ‘faggot’ and linking it to being raped or abused is not a neutral context. Of course, the qualifier means that this was already understood. So why not use a different method to convey displeasure with someone?

I mean, what Spatzi believes in may be pretty ignorant and contrary to my beliefs - but I don’t have to goad him on about it.

I did miss the thread in question though, so I may be lacking context. But just because you disagree with someone’s beliefs doesn’t mean you have to hound them in other threads. That’s been a cardinal sin here for a long time, and one that at least Bahimiron has violated more than once.

Ugh. Nice of you to comment without reading what we are even talking about. I’ll just say that I don’t believe racism is a belief that should be respected or tolerated. If defending Spatzi is the direction that many on Qt3 want to take things, then that is a damn shame.
