Once the order was there it was in the courts name, and as such there is a process to have it nullified. The mother’s word counts for something, but not everything. She can’t just walk in say she changed her mind. So whatever strength of argument you’re putting on the courts upholding the order despite the mother is immaterial.

But like you said, he shouldn’t have posted it here. And if people really wanted to punish someone they thought despicable telling Tom about his history was the correct course of action. Look, there is no magic bullet to “get around” a restraining order. There is only one piece of “advice” that anyone could give in that situation, and that is to retain a lawyer. That’s also great advice for his kids’ welfare too, by the way.

Cuz… guess what? If they’re young and they go to college, as a bio solvent dad he is going to be on the hook for their shit for a decade, maybe two. And if he didn’t abuse them badly enough to warrant criminal prosecution, he will probably have lots of contact with them. A good family lawyer will help navigate those encounters, making sure everyone knows the boundaries and keeping everyone out of court (thus leaving more money for child support).
