The words are still coming from real people sitting behind real keyboards so what’s wrong with reacting to those words? Does the fact that it’s a video game message board somehow make the words they type not as powerful or something? I don’t get it.
Bob, examine our posting history. I never say anything to you at all unless you say something provocative to me first. Since the c-word flap, I’ve just ignored you (aside from the aforementioned exception). In other words, I’m trying to let things go. Same with Cory–after the Judge Floro fight, I say nothing to him unless he mentions me, like he just did in this thread.
So yeah, I take my own advice. I don’t initiate anything in hopes that you and Cory do the same and that the hostilities will end. However, when comments like the ones in this thread are made, I will continue to respond to them. Big difference.

It’s the internet. Therefore you shouldn’t take ANY of it seriously. Why is it so important for people to get the last word? So you’ve got your jock in a twist because Poster A argued with Poster B and Poster C jumped in and then Poster D escalated things and - jesus, people, chill the fuck out.
If I post an opinion about something, and I get a response like “Mightynute, you are a fucking poo-poo head who smokes pole behind the bowling alley for laundry quarters” - my first response should be “Okay, what did I say that set this person off in such a manner?” instead of “Oh yeah? Fuck you too, pal!”.
My secondary response is likely to be “Ha ha, it’s not even laundry day!” but again, I digress.
If you’re not going to add something constructive to a conversation - especially when emotions are running high - take a second look and see if what you’re considering posting is worth the trouble, or if you’re just going to be kicking a hornets’ nest.

It doesn’t always work that way, I’ve made several friends via these boards, and for some people they extend into a broader network (twitter, facebook, irc, wow, etc) so telling people to “just ignore it” isn’t always applicable.
