Some entries can get you banned (#66, #83). Various newcomers to the forum (and vets too) have found themselves being ridiculed and mocked for committing the other blunders. Some folks have been banned recently for using the C-word, so to be on the safe side it might be best to avoid any of the various C-words that are not fit for polite conversation.

Here are the official rules.

Someone got banned RECENTLY for using the C-word? Do you mean in the alphabet thread? I don’t think they were banned for using it but for intentionally provoking Tom in that way, after he was pretty clear. Some people did use it in a P&R thread recently, though. I don’t think they were banned, but I could be wrong.

Fox News thread.

Yeah, Fox News, it looks like two of the three got 48-hour temp bans, and the third got…maybe a week?

Albert has a command center where he tracks this stuff. Just think NORAD.

Do you people have a script that trawls the member profile pages and runs diffs from day to day to find out whose status has been adjusted or something?

No, it’s more like people see when someone has posted something that could quite obviously be grounds for banning, at which point they click on the username and see if private messages are allowed to be sent.

There’s also the reality that a lot of users on here are connected with others socially outside of Qt3, so people find out anyways and then let everyone else know, or whatever.

Wait, you’re saying Albert doesn’t have a Yenta signal?

Wherever there is a gentle touching, a temp-ban, or a perma-ban, the citizens of Qutiethreeville know that their protector is near.

Look! Up in the sky! The Yenta-signal shines brightly, calling forth the city’s hero Woo-man from his Woo-cave.

Some say he saw his parents banned before his very eyes as a youth…

Don’t forget his illustrious partner, Ro-ban!

The sad part is that my old Batcomputer, on which the original Bananas and Nuts charts were created, died last year.

A moment of silence, please.

You owe me a new soda, mister. Hilarious.

Did someone actually dig up court records? I don’t remember that one.

Munky.

That was just recently. Adree pulled someone’s public court documents or something.

Oh yeah, that one. Talk about your yenta edge case.

I think it was Marcus. Guy asked for help after he had done some kind of custody violation and his local paper makes arrest records public and puts pictures of the people arrested online.

It was Adree who posted the arrest record. What Marcus did was repost the OP’s original post after the OP had deleted it.

So Marcus didn’t actually post anything ban worthy? That doesn’t sound right.
