He didn’t call you a tapir, did he? I seem to remember there being a problem like that in the past…

OK, now I do see that mentioned in one post a couple pages back.

You know, I have a friend or two that do not like the word “moist” and prefer I not use it. So when around them, I don’t, out of common courtesy.

His hard throbbing platypus plunged into her moist tapir.

You know though, this whole adventure brings up an interesting point. OK, not really all that interesting, but bear with me – I had no idea the forum software allowed for word swapping like that. Who knows what could be going on behind the scenes right now? For all you know, I’m starting a tangent conversation about how much I enjoy ballet, and Tom’s flipped every word to some alternate meaning. I might not even be here right now. You ever wonder what would happen if you were traveling in a taxi cab at the speed of light, and then you turned on the headlights?

Well, people got so hung up on the word “ban” during one of these silly conflagrations that the powers that were at the time replaced the word “banned” with “gently touched”. Must’ve been before your time youngster.

This word substitution stuff makes me think of the Tyson Homosexual stuff a couple months back.

Or the SomethingAwful forums without an account.

Well, it’s hardly a term one could avoid if you’ve spent any time at all on these boards, though I was unaware that typing the word ‘ban’ would become ‘gently touched’ – I figured it was just a euphemism that worked its way into the hive mind. But I take your point, good sir, and I’ll be getting off your lawn now.

Just to be clear, that substitution was lifted long ago, but some wacky Qt3ers have adopted it as their own. Just doing my part to educate.

I think it’s in the FAQ that’s attached to the rules, which I guess he didn’t read.

The FAQ was optional, but I think this just shows Tom’s weak vetting process and quick decision making.

(Wait, just kidding! It’s long enough as it is!)

That’s what she said.

This post somehow works better:

“Gabriel’s Trumpet will produce you from the ass of a pig”
“Loopy tapir”

Swearengen gets some great lines.

I don’t normally comment on closed accounts, but the Rollory situation is different. He asked me several days ago to close his account and when I didn’t (I get these requests from time to time and I tend to give them cooldown time), he then threatened to start sabotaging the forum by posting bannable stuff. I’m not sure what he had in mind, but I didn’t care to find out. So, his account was closed. Personally, I didn’t feel he’d done anything bannable or even PMable, although his “you aren’t American if you don’t vote for McCain” post was pretty crass, even for P&R. This all predated the latest stuff.

As for calling this latest stuff an “outrage”, as Angie put it, the only outrage I see is from some of you who don’t get that being on a private forum is like hanging out in someone’s living room. If you want to exercise your Internet-given right to be crass, juvenile, and willfully offensive, there are plenty of places you can go to do that.

And if you can’t see the difference between a funny comic of a shark singing “suck my dick” and a giant h-scroll-breaking picture of the c-word written in lights posted for no reason other than to antagonize someone who was offended, then you should fit right in at those other places.

Whoa, Rollory had a class one meltdown? I always wondered if that guy was that angry or if that was just an affectation. I guess he was that angry.

Too bad he didn’t meltdown in a thread where we could all see it. It’s not that I like watching trainwrecks, it’s that I love the meltdown thread dramatic readings.

I didn’t get the impression that Angie was equating the two images, Tom. I thought she was genuinely saying she’d stop posting images with profanity in the text, if that’s the new forum rule. Personally, I hope that isn’t the new forum rule, as I would miss the blowjob shark - but it’s clear that blowjob shark is in nowhere near the same league as a giant tapir. Did I say ‘blowjob shark’ enough times? I can rewrite this post to work it in a few more times.

It’s probably for the best. He was clearly feeling pretty deracinated here, and I’m sure he’ll be able to find some place where his racination is at a higher level.

I wasn’t even saying if it was a rule. I was just saying I don’t want to get anyone in trouble at work, hadn’t been considering that angle lately, and could see the suck my dick pictures possibly being an issue for some people.

Some people want you to ban them now, some people when you get home.
