Well, to be fair, the internet has yet to penetrate most of the Kansas City market. They’re still using analog car phones and stuff right?

Possibly a stupid question… I’ve bought TQ & TQ:IT via steam and need to start them seperately from the steam menu. Are the interface changes/updates that they introduced in IT automatically applied to the base game?

No, you want to use the TQ:IT shortcut. Not 100% on this but you may have to launch TQ once to the main menu just to get the game to initialize some stuff, and after that only use TQ:IT.

Also, rename the Videos folder to get rid of some really long (and initially unskippable) movies.

No, play the IT version. There’s really no reason to platy the base game, everything there is included when you start IT (except existing characters). Don’t uninstall it though, IT still uses the base install.

Thanks!

Is Steam’s Midweek Madness sale on Batman working for anyone? Clicking the banner takes me back to Steam’s homepage.

Fine here.

I am showing the new Batman (Arkham City) for pre-order at 20% off in Steam - $39.99. (for PC obviously)

Doesn’t show for me when looking at website though, only through Steam client.

I think I’ll jump at that - no regional pricing, will hopefully pre load and 20% is about as good as it gets for preorders, especially for games being as well received as this.

So if I Steam preorder Batman, do they charge me now or when the game is released?

Now.5

NFS: Hot Pursuit and NFS: Shift are $10 each on Impulse right now.

Note that if you haven’t jumped on the Batwagon yet, you can grab the original Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for $50 total on Steam, simply buy AA for $10, and then take advantage of the 20% discount for AA owners to grab AC for $40.

I may have scared him off.
He packed up his tent, not unlike TC, and is Bargain Thread AWOL.

The 20% is because you have the previous Batman and/or the LEGO: Batman game(s).

Play-asia.com has Forza 3 and Crackdown 2 for about $9.90 each I believe.

Just make sure to check amazon first before you do that. I was going to jump on that deal but after shipping (not even tax) I was within $13 of what the games I wanted cost on amazon. And given that I probably won’t play anything I buy right away those prices are just going down by the time I will.

I’ve seen people linking Greenmangaming deals and was wondering if you need to use their client or is it like GoG where you can just download the games without a client?

If it’s a Steam-only game you can use the serial they send you and bypass them completely. Any other game, you have to use their single exe client called Capsule.

Ah humm, it was actually an MMO (Rift) that i wanted to buy from them. Not sure how it will work since i can also grab it from Steam or from Rift’s website.

Steam Daily Deal for October 19th is Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes for $4.99 (50% off).

I loves me some grotesque tactics!

I actually tried this one recently. I’ve always had an urge to play an SRPG but I don’t want to open up a can of worm by buying a console. It seemed extremely simplistic. The unique part of the game is the ironic humor making fun of fantasy games. Now I’m having trouble remembering whether I actually chuckled or if it was completely flat. Either way, it’s safe to skip.

I think there’s a sequel coming out soon too. That might be better.

Steam also has the Sword of the Stars games on sale for 75% off. This brings the Complete Collection down to $5.00, and also the Argos Naval Yard expansion down to $1.25.

But wait, the Complete Collection includes Argos Naval Yard, so don’t buy both.
