Also worth noting, if you’re a controls curmudgeon like me, the PC controls for GTA San Andreas are incomprehensible to me. Using a 360 gamepad sucked for me too, massive mapping issues (triggers and right stick won’t map at all for me without a third party program to emulate keyboard buttons). As far as I’m concerned it’s a failure of a port, but seems like a pretty good game from what little I could get out of it.

Last year I couldn’t get IV to run properly on my previous machine, and I have yet to install it on this one. So, performance issues may have been ironed out, but I’m not one to know.

I’m glad you edited this.

Well then. I know my video card can definitely be called old by now, but I also thought that my processor (which is an AMD Phenom X3 8450) is pretty old as well. Now, I’m willing to upgrade my GPU but I thought that it wouldnt help much, as I would still be limited by the CPU. Am I wrong in thinking that? I realize I need to get a complete overhaul soon but I’d sooner start with GPU. Then again, if there is no tangible gain, I’d rather wait and save the money.

That’s not a bad deal. If you do it, upgrade the energy weapon. It’s more fun.

Rift is free this weekend on Green Man Gaming via a promotion from the Sun. this may only apply for UK/Irish customers though, I’m not sure, but here’s the link anyway:

Edit: Free and comes with 30 days as far as I can tell.

Save your money and start with the CPU and RAM.

So I have to buy the 800 Bioware points through the Origin client, then the DLC from bioware using said points??

Huh, Sacraboar looks neat, anyone play that one?

So, I’m trying to use the ORIGIN60 promo code at Origin’s shopping cart page and it says invalid promo code. Am I doing something wrong?

Use the client not the website?

Thanks, that did it.

The Origin UI is even worse than GFW’s. I feel like I’ve installed a virus on my machine.

Has anyone successfully made a purchase using Paypal?

Yes. Bought Bulletstorm and DA2 from my Paypal balance.

Well, I can select Paypal as a payment method, but it never asks your paypal user/pass. At the end I get a plaintext “Thank you for your purchase. Your order is currently being processed. You will receive an email shortly confirming your purchase and including delivery information.” But no email or anything. At least there’s no Paypal draw, either :).

I got a popup from the client, within which Paypal details were to be entered. All worked fine.

Nope. 7 days.

The RIFT free trial is your chance to become one of the mighty Ascended. Experience massive invasions by the forces of the Blood Storm, explore the nearly limitless possibilities of the Ascended Soul class system, and battle for the fate of Telara for 7 days.

This Trial will grant you a digital copy and up to seven (7) consecutive days of access to RIFT (new accounts only).

No it’s different from the trial. I just bought it and it gave me 30 days. It’s only available to Europe though.

That’s what I did. There doesn’t appear to be an easier way to do it.

Ah. Stupid regional pricing always giving the good deals to Europe and Australia.

:)

Tried two different PCs with Origin and Paypal. No popup asking for my paypal account info; no purchase. I hope someone lets me know if you’re successful before the promotion is over Monday.

I managed to get Rift from GMG for $0.00. Regretting it as it’s a pretty boring WoW clone.
