Everything in the Longbow games store is 25% off over the next week, if you use the code ROME, when checking out. This includes Hegemony Gold, as well as the upgrade from Hegemony: Philip of Macedon to Gold.

I was going to wait until the holidays for DA2 as I could not play it now anyway…but that was before I realized it is not on Steam currently.

So how is the Back to the Future game? It’s the Midweek deal on Steam at $10.00.
Did you play the Sam & Max games from them? Mechanically, it’s very much like those but with Back to the Future nostalgia. All the episodes for $10? Totally worth it.

Personally, I found them too easy, a little buggy, and I don’t think the story really lived up to Back to the Future (even as much as would be expected of a game). Sam & Max and Monkey Island are way, way better.

I had no problems with the difficulty in back to the future, but I did hit a nearly game-breaking bug that for some reason was never patched. Had to google for a solution, which was (seriously) “sit in the room for up to an hour realtime until the event triggers”. Beyond that, great games.

GameFly used with free shipping:
Fear 3 ps3/360 $14.99
The free shippinng for certain titles often doesn’t last more than a day.
25% off on longbow games (of Hegemony fame) if you use the “ROME” code until 1st November
Steam’s daily deal is Astro Tripper for $4.99. I’d buy it if it was a space shooter, but sadly it’s not. It looks cool though.

Gemini Rue, Sanctum, ARES, and Nimbus are available as a bundle for around 2 dollars, at new service Indie Royale (includes Steam key option).

STORM: Frontline Nation is 75% off at D2D. I got this on offer from steam a while ago but haven’t really played it yet. http://www.direct2drive.com/11107/product/Buy-STORM:-Frontline-Nation-Download
D2D say it requires a 3rd party download. Not sure if that means steam or what.
Wow, I forgot all about Space Tripper! That game was awesome, so this game is probably also pretty awesome.

All Cryptic Comet games are half price if you use the code NEVERONSTEAM. Get them all!
Apparantly, Vic broke down and tried to have Armageddon Empires accepted on Steam, but was rejected. This is sort of a celebration, I guess.

Rejected? God damn it. I’ve been waiting for his games to show up on Steam.
GABENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
This brings a big smile to my face, but of course I hope he’s still able to survive without Steam in this indie business environment. Maybe he should start a hardcore/grognard indie bundle.
Anyway, I’ll go buy Six Gun Saga now.
Nikolaj, thanks for that. Been meaning to get AE since that’s the one everyone tells me to get. ;)

Not familiar at all with Cryptic Comet stuff. What’s a good starting point to explore their catalog?

Armageddon Empires is my favourite, but it’s single player only. Solium Infernum is a great pbem game, but most people don’t seem to like the single player part (although I do, but not as much as AE).
I’m all about single player, so it’s AE for me all the way.
