The faction system by which you compete with other groups of adventurers makes this my favorite of the Soldak games.

If he redid the game with the Din’s Curse engine I’d buy it all over again. It has my favorite game mechanics of the three Soldak games I’ve played yet. Though Din’s curse has a lot of good ideas, I really do miss the faction system from Depths of Peril. It just ratchets up that sense of urgency.

Some claim there are multiple Watsons.

Like Godzilla.

If anyone is interested in Trapped Dead or Bunch of Heroes, I have 2 copies of each left - PM me if you’d like one (or both).

Hi just wondering is bunch of heroes and painkiller complete pack worth getting during the steam halloween sale?

Thanks

Just get Painkiller: Black Edition ($2.50). The other Painkillers aren’t very good.

God damn true. Painkiller: Black is fantastic. The others…not nearly so much…

Step 1) Buy Phillip of Macedon on Steam (today: $6.80)
Step 2) Go to Longbow’s site and upgrade to Hegemony Gold ($9.99)

Now you have Hegemony Gold for $16.79, down from standard price of $30.

Thanks alot for the suggestion on painkiller black edition

Btw Steam daily deal is Hegemony : Philip of Macedon 66% off $6.80

This fits in here too: Frayed Knights is 50% off for a limited amount of times. Get yours while it’s hot.

Sorry if I missed this earlier, but there’s a new Humble Bundle featuring Voxatron (a voxel-based shooter): http://www.humblebundle.com/#contribute

And thanks to everyone helping me keep up with all the Halloween sales. I got to load up Gabriel Knight 2 for the first time in over a decade thanks to that, and snagged some other great deals as well.

Small Correction:

Buy Philip today on Steam for $6.80
Go to Longbow’s Site and choose the upgrade to Hegmony Gold for $9.99. Put it in your cart.
Enter the code “ROME” while in your cart and price drops to $7.50.

Now you have Hegemony Gold for $14.30 total, more than 50% off the standard price.

I already own Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines. Now that Steam has it for $5.00 I’m tempted to pick it up. I mean, five bucks. Has anyone else gotten it? And if so, how well does it run on Win 7 64 bit. Is it fully patched? It was buggy as hell when it came out.

You need the fan patches to get rid of most of the bugs, and I doubt Steam includes those. If you haven’t played with the fan patches, you should give it a try, though. It’s an absolutely awesome game, once the bugs are gone.

But since you already own it, you don’t need the Steam version for that.

What and where are the fan patches? I picked this up too, but have not installed it.

Here’s a link: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/vampire_bloodlines.php

I think you’ll find the change logs in the support forum, which is linked from that page. They’re probably in the download, too, but it’s been a while, so I don’t remember.

Thanks. Ill book mark that. I hope it is steam compatible.

Yeah, that’s the last patch. It includes all of the previous patches so it’s a one patch deal. Thanks guys.

Roughly speaking, how much new content is added / restored through the unofficial patches?
