I’m kind of surprised that Dead Rising 2 and the latest Wolfenstein didn’t get added to the sale.

Roughly speaking, how much new content is added / restored through the unofficial patches?

Not much. There’s an optional bloodline subclass thing that slightly modifies the clans, a bunch of items have been moved around, the stripper with a katana that you fight has been given an actual katana (so you can get it off her once you’ve given her a vamping)… that kind of thing. Nothing like a whole new questline, AFAIK.

Every time Amazon does one of these buy two, get one free sales, the games I really want are not included. I already have Arkham City. If Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and War in the North were part of the sale, I’d go for it.

My only problem with the buy two get one free sales is unless you get 3 very new games (still selling at $60) or 3 bargain games it almost doesn’t makes sense. I tallied up 3 games on the TRU sale and would have saved a whopping $13 total compared with buying them outright from amazon because 2 of the games were a month or two old. Plus these are games I wouldn’t get to for a while so chances are they would drop in price anyway.

Not really, Ms. Judgmental. I’m supposed to be excited by “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” or “Cooking Mama?” Or an Elmo game? 90% of the games on the list are absolute crap. Of the ones that aren’t crap, most of them are old or very old, and I’ve played them.

If you weed out the old and the crap, you’re left with Arkham City, Resistance 3, Gears of War 3, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, and Dark Souls. That’s not a long list.

If R&C: All 4 One were another straight R&C game, I’d be interested, but it’s not really a single player game.

Resistance 3 is supposed to be good, but it’s hard for muster much enthusiasm after not finishing Resistance 2. Gears 3 doesn’t excite me either.

I know there are people here who love Dark Souls, but when I hear “it’s a lot like Demon’s Souls,” that makes me stay far, far away - I hated just about everything about that game.

And yeah, if you take out the older games you’re left with little of value, but if you want to get three great older games for $40 there’s a lot to like on that list (especially if you own more than one console).
