Does Bastion work well with mouse/keyboard control?

I’ve thought for a long time that any reviewer dedicated to a specific medium (games, film, etc.) for a significant amount of time eventually grows to loathe the medium they review.

That’s funny, I’ve found with age that I’ve actually gotten more in-line with Tom’s sensibilities. Games that are great in a vacuum no longer hold my interest much. For example, the next great FPS. Unless it does something new or different, I know it’s not a day one purchase, if a purchase at all.

There is one silly thing: most of the levels are at a diagonal angle that doesn’t match the direction you move with, say A+W, so you’ll be adjusting yourself a bit on long stretches. Not a big deal for me. That’s the only issue I had.
Hmmmm, how about Dirt 3, Driver San Francisco and Dark Souls, all for $101.99, which translates to $34 each. I don’t have time for them now though, so the question is, won’t these three games be less than $34 anyway soon? I think so. Removing from shopping cart. Pretty decent deal if I had time for them now and wasn’t busy with Forza 4 and Batman.
My thoughts exactly, especially with regard to the games that are included in the promo. There is no reason to get three games right now, even at a decent price when (1) most of those games will be receiving discounts soon anyway and (2) I already have quite a backlog of games to play.
Last year I felt pretty burned by jumping onto big titles on launch day only to see them discounted to $40 and under as parts of Amazon holiday promotions.
Driver: SF is already less than that. It’s $30 at Best Buy this week. And if we’re piling on Tracy (sup Gus) I’ll point out that Amazon’s B2G1 has been going since Sunday, matching the in-store B2G1 Target is running on all video games.

Pretty sure they added an option to fix that in one of the early patches. Of course, they had to wait until I was fed up with that admittedly minor issue before rectifying it, but such is life. Give it a shot anyway. I may not be the biggest Bastion fan on the planet, but I still say it’s worth trying out just for its sense of style.
Anecdotally (which is a word Chrome does not like), whenever I act on a Buy Two Get One deal, I never play all three games. I find a third game I was considering getting that I finally pull the trigger on, and by the time I’ve gotten through the first one or two games there I was really excited for something else has come up and I’m playing it instead.
Right, “that’s a you problem” and “Mr. Impossible to Please” aren’t the least bit condescending. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass now and then you’d realize how your remarks come across.
The way you keep harping on the sheer size of the list ignores the quantity of crap on it. There are good games on the list, but it’s in the 2% range. The sale definitely has value, it’s not like some of the non-bargains you sometimes see from Amazon, but the pickings are much slimmer than the number you keep tossing around implies.
I’m sure a lot of people aren’t going to find 3 games they want to buy on that list. In fact, I’d guess it’s probably the majority of the people reading this thread. Just as it is with most sales.
Sounds good to me.
What is wrong with people today? People make remarks about finding or not finding anything in various sales all the time, and usually people don’t make such a big deal out of it. Already owning the games that interest me on that list isn’t a moral failing.
Firefox doesn’t like anecdotally either. Anecdotal it knows, but not the adverb form.
I always feel vaguely guilty about not starting a game. I’ve still got a copy of Killzone 2 sitting on my shelf that I’ve never opened. I got it through Goozex, not a buy 2 get 1 deal, but it still stares at me reproachfully anyway.
They did fix that, although I haven’t actually tried using M+K since the fix. The game is great with a controller.
One of my favorite things about Roger Ebert is that even after a lifetime of reviewing film, he’s not only still in love with the medium but can still appreciate a solid but unambitious movie on its own merits.
They fixed that.
edit: oh, Otagan already answered you, and with more detail.
I called you a name because you called me one (and got my gender wrong to boot). I didn’t take offense when you did so and figured it was good-natured ribbing, this being the bargain thread and all, but you’ve just confirmed my suspicion that you are a touchy grumpus who can’t tell the mildest of jokes from an all-out condescending personal attack.

Harping? Jesus, I wish I would have known you had such issues with me before I responded to you. Would have saved us all some time.

That’s fine. I’m not pimping for Amazon and was just posting something I noticed that I felt was relevant to the thread (apparently not!). As I’ve said repeatedly, my response to your reply was just some mild ribbing. If you can’t take me at my word that there was no venom behind it, so be it. I felt a need to explain myself here, but if you want to get in a last jab I’ll leave it and all your other posts (the vast majority of which I find useful) alone.
