Come on, a world traveler like you?
The Steam Daily Deal for November 4th is Your Doodles Are Bugged! for $3.40 (66% off). Do you have what it takes to be a Master Doodler? I think my dad warned me about master doodlers when I was a kid but this game looks like it might be entertaining.
Doodles is a bit lightweight. You draw lines for bugs to walk along or lines to wall them in and contain them. That’s probably about the right price for it.

Child of Eden is the lightning sale on Amazon for $20. It also looks like Epic Mickey may be on sale later today.

Is Shattered Horizon worth picking up for $5.00?
From what I’ve gleaned, no.
It was a fun multiplayer game, but servers are empty now.
It has bots now and they’re competent. It’s fun to float around in zero-g and run all over space structures but you can probably get that out of your system during a free weekend, which Steam occasionally offers.
I seem to recall Unreal Tournament had plenty of low-G action available, if you checked the right boxes.
Many an hour did I waste with slow-mo, low-gravity, super-jump, ultra-gib action on whatever that space platform map was. With the Blue Danube Waltz cranked up on the speakers, I might add.
Huge difference between that and the zero-g that Shattered Horizon offers. There’s nothing quite like it, but unfortunately it was doomed by system requirements, an underwhelming amount of content, and a console weenie generation’s thirst for nothing but more and more CoD.

Morpheus. No insta-gib for me though, I always found that pointless. Timing your rocket or Redeemer in low-grav was awesome, though.

Thanks folks. I decided to pick up the Sword of the Stars Complete Collection in preparation for a fully patched SotS 2. I was in a “need something new right now” mood.

Just consider that there have been 201,587 total matches throughout the entirety of the game being out…two years ago

Tis a shame. Does it have any single player content? Zero G space could’ve made for some interesting campaigns, one would think.
Did it have any DLC? It feels like it was one of the older indie-ish games that came out, that didn’t take advantage of some of the newer pay models for stuff.
Downloaded demo for #5, wouldn’t recognize my screen resolution and started up in 800x600. Couldn’t find a way to change it without having to change my native resolution, so I uninstalled it. Quickest uninstalled demo ever!

This is what Geneforge looks like.

Do you really need that in hi res? They’re super old school games. They’re not even really “old school games with a modern sensibility”. They’re just old school games. They’re good, but certainly not for everyone.
Something’s wrong, then. Geneforge 5 actually has a choice of resolutions and/or windowed mode. (1-3 (haven’t checked 4) just do the one resolution, no window, which is frustrating but worth getting past.)

They released a lot of free DLC for the game, combined it with free weekends, and every time they’d get a spike in players that continued for a little bit even beyond the free weekend. So it must have sold decently well, but the audience was never large enough for people to actually play it for a long time.
No single-player component.

Anyone know how well GMG is doing financially? I hope they are doing well.
One of the DLCs added bots and whatnot, which isn’t singleplayer content per se, (certainly not enough to get me to bite) but might be close enough for some people.
