NO! I don’t want to be responsible for you not getting it - read my later post. It was behaving oddly, but it eventually DID work when I put them into the basket a second time. As another poster said, make sure they are both being sold by Amazon, and it will probably work for you.

(Man I’ll feel terrible if my post led someone to miss the deal.)

The Steam Daily Deal for November 16th is Diner Dash:® Hometown Hero™ for $3.40 (66% off). That’s only $1.70 per trademark symbol!

I’d go with Railworks first. The ShipSim UI is even worse, and the most exciting thing you’ll be doing is learning how to park properly. In an odd choice, the controls are streamlined and I’m pretty sure you get an omnimap so you don’t even have to use real radar in bad weather conditions.

It’s clunky enough to be a real sim, but it doesn’t actually have the guts of a sim; I think Rise of Flight’s startup sequence has more depth than this (if you enable manual fuel mix, that is). It’s a bit weird piece of software.

Sins of a Solar Empire is now on Steam! And it’s 25% off right now. http://store.steampowered.com/app/201290/ $14.99

Weird, looks like the Amazon half off sale is still active. I thought it was defunct as of yesterday. I really want Assassin’s Creed and Arkham City though, not any of those other games… what do you think, should I get Skyrim and return it for store credit to like Best Buy or something?

I actually already have Railworks (got it from a Steam sale last year). Played it a bit, and kind of enjoyed it. I really wanted a manual so I could play it in full sim mode, and gave up.

However, I just realized I now have a Kindle, so I can do PDF manuals. I’ll give it another shot.

I agree, I gave my copy of Oblivion to my nephew a couple of years ago and just recently saw him playing it with about 25 mods installed and it looked really good.
He had this huge creepy castle as his home plus a bunch of fancy armor and weapons, also the in-game map mod he had was incredibly detailed and colorful, he even has the Witchking Lair from LotR in the game lol and a bunch more that he was telling me about.

Even though I just bought Skyrim I’m going to pick up that Game of the Year Deluxe Edition from Steam at that price, never even played any of the DLC before.
Maybe they have a Oblivion Gate bypass mod out there, I hope so couldn’t bring myself to tackle those again.

I still haven’t tackled an Oblivion gate. Tried it once on the 360 a couple of years ago and really didn’t have much fun.

The DLC is great though as I’m currently working through the Knights of the Nine quest and it’s a ton of fun with some great rewards.

Have you tried Nehrim? I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m liking it much better than the base game.

Gamersgate has a bundle which may or may not be time limited. Every Infinity Engine RPG plus TOEE and possibly something else I’m forgetting (D&D-based) for $20. Quite the steal, imho.

Man, are they still fucking that Diner Dash chicken? Damn.

The Steam Daily Deal for November 17th is SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition for $5.00 (75% off). Not counting SimCity Societies, this 2003 game is the last SimCity EA/Maxis released.

Also Just Cause 2 for 5 bucks, or 8.50 for the complete edition, which seems to throw in some DLC items. I have this for the 360, but I’m tempted to get it for the PC for some reason. Do they play about the same? I would be using the 360 gamepad for the PC version, if I got it.

Holy cats. I was planning on getting most of those off of GOG when I got my new PC, but to get all of those would go for $56.

…what’s the catch?

Edit: Oh, the catch is that $20 for all that isn’t an unusual price.

They play exactly the same, except you can mod the PC version with stretchier, stronger hooks, unlimited ammo, etc. Totally worth it.

And flying. And a Bolo Santosi model.

I hadn’t seen that bundle before and the reviews seem to suggest that it just launched. So I guess it’s not so much that Gamersgate has an exclusive bundle as that Atari decided to make that bundle and Gamersgate is one of the places you can get it.

Edit: And apparently the reason they didn’t include NWN is that they decided to release a separate $30 bundle with NWN, both expansions and the Kingmaker bundle of some of the premium modules, NWN 2, both expansions, and Mysteries of Westgate.

So is Gamersgate like Steam? I buy it once and can DL as many times as I want until they go out of business? Or is it a once and gone sort of thing?
