It is also just a downloader, so you can download, install and then not launch it again. I have tested this with DA2, Saboteur and Bulletstorm - they all run fine w/o Origin running.

Is Witcher 2 a Steamworks game?

No. Witcher 2 is not Steamworks. The download from Amazon is a stand alone.

Ms 'Splosion Man is on sale for 400 points on XBL. Don’t know how long that will last, but it is a pretty fun sequel to the original!
What’s the over under on this being cheaper on Steam as of Friday?
Edit: Since $16 is 60% off, I’m going to say the likelihood is pretty low. Sold!

M&M VI for $24 is tempting.
Did a consensus ever emerge about M&M VI here at Qt3 by the people who got it? I just remember the thread being overrun by talk of M&M V w/ mods, and that’s when I stopped reading it.

I don’t know that there’s been a clear consensus - some liked it and some didn’t. Personally I think it’s well worth the $24, but I can see some merit in the things people have against it too. In my own personal ranking of HoMM titles, it’s better than 4 and 5, not as good as 3.
Steam Daily Deal for November 21 is another ™ special: Cold Fear™ is $4.99 (50% off).
I believe it is a zombie hugging simulator set in the Arctic.

Definitely – though I’ll wait for Steam’s counteroffer.
Really all the good stuff in the Amazon sale is on the first page. The rest are the usual suspects (Meridian4 crap, obligatory Fantasy Wars/King’s Bounty/Majesty 2 collections, etc).
Close. It’s a zombie hugging simulator set on a massive cargo vessel and then an oil rig.

You think Steam will match/lower the price? You can register Amazon downloads on Steam, but I’m very tempted to jump on this.
I just bought Puzzle Quest 2 for $5 and Puzzle quest: Galactrix for $10 at GG. I love this kind of game. Warning: The site certificate has expired. so I had to turn back my system clock 1 year to get the DL to work…grrr.
I dunno, but it’s worth the short wait to find out.
Rage is $30 on D2D… some might see that as a bargain.

Slitherine have announced their christmas sale which is actually worth being called that.
Panzer Corps, for example, is off 50%, from $40 to $20 - definately a nice price for this game that’s unlikely to ever end up on Steam and thus in the territory of ultra-low prices.
Here’s a list of all games on sale:

I’m intrigued by Battle Academy, but I’ve been so spoiled by sales over the last 2 years that $21 seems too much to pay for a “see if its any good” purchase. I know they are the good guys making niche games and I should support them… but you can get alot of gaming for $20 in the steam Christmas sale…
