No need to be intrigued-Slitherine has a demo for Battle Academy (believe it or not). I tried it and it was quite a hell of a lot of fun. Try it out for yourself: http://www.gamershell.com/download_79036.shtml

Matrix Games is holding a sale of nearly all their games until 08 January 2012.

http://matrixgames.com/news/854/Christmas.comes.early.for.strategy.gamers!

Thanks for the heads up, I’ve been curious about the game but put off by the price.

And not coincidentally, RPS reports there is now a Panzer Corps demo.

That Matrix sale is making me sad. Bills, X-mass, games for me…in that order. <s>

I really liked “Hannibal: Rome and Carthage”, and it has a demo. Very much a board game, you’re pushing chits around on an area-based map. Unusual graphic style. Single player only, and you can only play Carthage, but on the plus side, the AI is quite good.

Ooooh…Storm Over the Pacific, $21. There we go. Thought I was done with Skyrim, SR3, and CBH, but I guess not :\

It’s totally gonna be:

Distant Worlds - Return of the Shakturi
Starships Unlimited v3

for me.

Quick question on EA Origin. There’s a game on there for DL that I know has a Mac version. Or rather, I’m actually pretty sure that the box version bought at a B&M comes with both PC and Mac versions on the disc. However when I look at it on Origin it doesn’t mention Mac anywhere. Does Origin only support PC gaming? If I actually look at EA’s site it mentions that it works on Mac and says ‘Buy on Origin’ with a button, but that link takes me to the same link that doesn’t mention Macs anywhere.

I might go for Across the Dnepr.

Anyone interested in Command Ops: Battles From the Bulge, might want to get it now. There should be a long-awaited patch coming out soon, and a bridge-to-far scenario pack not long after that.

War in the East is also getting a significant discount, so anyone who’s interested, but was put off by the price might want to get that.

Origin won’t automatically get you the Mac version since there is no Mac Origin. Only SteamPlay offers that for some titles.

You click Buy and you will only get the PC downloadable version through Origin.

Humble Introversion Bundle

Darwinia, Multiwinia, DEFCON, Uplink
Also Aquaria and Crayon Physics Deluxe for over average payments.

Personally I’ve got all of those which I want, but…

I’m hoping the new expansion they are releasing tomorrow also is 33% off.

Might have gotten lost in the shuffle, but the downloadable version of Amnesia: The Dark Descent is five bucks right now on Amazon.

And the DL version of Mount & Blade: Warband is 12 bucks.

(Edit: The physical copy of Warband is also currently priced at $6.22)

Not sure if these activate on Steam. It looks unlikely.

Steam Daily Deal for November 22 is Dream Chronicles®: The Chosen Child™ for $5.10 (66% off). “Unlock the secrets of the beautiful and mysterious fairy realm in the third installment of the award-winning Dream Chronicles® series. And remember, Dream Chronicles® is a registered trademark.”

As if we would ever forget.

Amazon has Warhammer 40K: Space Marine for PC Download @ 24.99.

I’m waiting for Edge® Chronicles.

So when do we expect the Steam sale to start? Thursday? Friday?

Those have both been on sale on Steam for less. I’d wait until Steam’s Black Friday or Christmas sales.
