That Rift sale is the stupidest promo I’ve ever seen. That is SoE levels of stupidity.

Here’s the Steam Autumn Sale thread, in case anyone missed it.

Portal 2 for $10! Could it go any lower?

Remember kids: if it’s not on the daily sale, wait for the last day! It may go cheaper.

Eventually, sure. But I got my $50 worth out of it, and I generally don’t buy new releases.

October: $15
November: $10

I expect it will drop to $7.50 before too long, maybe even next month!

Spectromancer is 75% off in the steam sale, which brings it to about 5 bucks for the whole package and 2.50 for the basegame.

It is the perfect game for short breaks. Easy to learn, extremely hard to master, almost perfect noncheating AI (can be dialed down towards more stupid behavior) and an active multiplayer scene.

The DLCs add some extra game modes and new classes. They aren’t essential, but nice to have.

I think it’s safe to break the “wait till the end of the sale” rule for this one. Unless you really want to hold out to maybe save an extra dollar if it goes to 80% off.

Spectromancer is one of the best (and my personal favorite) PC TCG games I’ve played yet. I have about 100ish hours into it according to Steam. Most of that time is playing against my wife, so I can’t comment too much on the single player modes – other than there’s a tournament mode, and a crappy little campaign that bends/changes/breaks some of the rules of the standard multi-player game, in order to change things up for the player from combat to combat.

I’ve heard some folks complain that they can’t customize decks for multi-player play, but the game doesn’t suffer for it as far as I’m concerned. Try the demo, there’s one out there. I think it limits you to the Mech tree, which isn’t my favorite, but will give you a solid idea of whether you’ll like the game or not.

Very much worth the $5 for the complete set (I couldn’t imagine playing without the expansions, given that they add some cool new decks).

Atari has bundled together all the Infinity engine games for $20 – Baldur’s 1 and 2 and expansions, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Planescape, and Temple of Elemental Evil, which I don’t believe is an Infinity engine game but why not toss it in.

They also have a Neverwinter complete bundle for $30.

I find the first bundle to be more appealing than the second (personal preference, I love almost every game in the first, save for the first Baldur’s Gate), though the second isn’t too bad (it’s just not worth $30).

Looks like Impulse/GameStop just started a big Thanksgiving sale as well, including Civ 5 from $7.50. They also have Dawn of Discovery Gold, aka Anno 1404, for about $6, which is not available on Steam for some reason; that’s making me reconsider my decision to drop Impulse like a hot potato after the GameStop buyout.

An even better bargain might be on Kongregate - free?:

Doesn’t include the expansions or multiplayer I think. The Steam version has a “limited # of installs”, whatever that means.

Yep, your cards are randomly determined at the start of each match. You don’t get to scratch the deckbuilding itch, but it does make it very ‘pick up and play’.

It doesn’t even have the complete regular campaign, last I checked. It’s a fine demo, but if it really grabs you, you could do a lot worse than paying $5 for the full version. I’ve put a few dozen hours into it m’self.

Should be noted that this is a basically a lo-fi version that seems to have gimped AI. Good for a demo and to see if you like the concept, but it’s worth a few bucks to get the full game.

Also, there’s a custom deck build mode for singleplayer but not multiplayer.

Ah, thanks for the correction guys. I’m going to grab the full version then - seems like a fun game. :)

Spectromancer is well worth the asking price, even at full price. :)

For those (like myself) who’ve been eyeing Rayman Origins, Gamestop has it available online now at their Black Friday Price (29.99 Wii/39.99 PS3/XBox). I figured $40 for what seems to be a really solid platformer was more than fair, since so few get released these days (especially if you want it on something other than the Wii).

Oooh, me, too.

Add me to the “Spectromancer is Super Duper” camp.

Gamersgate has a 50% sale on Pirates Vs Zombies.

Totally agree that Spectromancer is great especially at such a low price

For Canadians there are some good Black Friday deals. Walmart apparently has Batman:AC (PS3/360) for $29!
