I can’t remember how well it compares to the Steam sale, but COD:Black Ops is half-price ($30) on Direct2Drive today, and I think it’s activatable on Steam.

I think that was the same price it was going for during the sale. Probably the lowest Black Ops has ever reached, well worth it for anyone interested in the CoD games. I think Black Ops has the best campaign yet, and I played a boatload of the multiplayer too.

It does activate on Steam, and even with Modern Warfare 3 out, it still has a decent number of people playing it now: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

That’s the cheapest I’ve seen.

Steam had the same deal during Thanksgiving Sale (1st day) -50%

Right – I’m saying I have never seen it cheaper, i.e., this is the cheapest.

Cheap cheap. :p

Steam Daily Deal for November 30th is Bully: Scholarship Edition for $3.74 (75% off). Relive all your worst school memories!

Fixed that for you!

Or wait, did they fix that?

I just picked up a UK copy of DarkStar One at the local computer shop because the description on the box sounded pretty good, it was pretty cheap, and I need new space game other than Space Rangers 2 to play to balance out all the medieval-ness of Skyrim.

Then I see checking Qt3 that the “Spaceman” himself Brian Rubin thinks it’s garbage, shot down before I even install it :( .

Does anyone else have a kind word for the game to get back a little enthusiasm on my new purchase?

I never had any problems with Bully. Except the damn xylophone music.

Bully is tied with Saints Row 2 as my favorite GTA game of all time.

After the crazy amount of clothing customization you could do with Jimmy in Bully, GTA4’s three shirts and two pairs of pants was downright depressing.

Metacritic reports a pretty average reception:

Eurogamer was uncommonly kind to it, but I think it may have gotten the bonus +2 points from them (and appropriate review text, please don’t hit me for mentioning numbers) for being a Eurozone game.

And the PC port is fine after the patch AND if you’re using a gamepad.

Thanks James, I took a look at the Eurogamer review, not bad, better than I expected and it’s written by Kieron Gillen whom I respect.
Checked out the Gamespot review via Metacritic also and they gave it an 8.1 so maybe it’s worth installing anyway…just don’t tell Brian.

It’s fine, but S.P.A.Z. is very similar and a lot better.

SPAZ is a totally different kind of game to DarkStar One

Oh, if Kieron wrote it you can take it at face value then. He seems to ignore Eurogamer’s eurobonus policy.

Can you take it back?

That was never going to work.

Hey, if y’all wanna play a lame ripoff of Freelancer with only one ship, be my guest. ;)

If you want an open-ended space game thingy that’s fairly accessible and modern, yet on the good side, try Evochron Mercenary. DS1 was just…blech…

Well now that it’s out, I really wanted to find a copy of Freelancer to be my goto space game right now, replacing an overplayed Space Rangers 2.
Never have played Freelancer but it sounds like just want I wanted with it’s RPG touch.
But can’t seem to find a copy to buy online(digitally) or locally, that’s the main reason I picked up Darkstar One, the box says “Freelancer done right” so that convinced me not knowing anything else about it.
