Get Gray Matter instead. In every way superior to Lost Crown, which is horribly overpriced at $9.

Brad finally waved the white flag? If I remember correctly, he did mention that he won’t be putting StarDock games on Steam or anywhere else only in Impulse.
Good deal though. Even at full price, Gal Civ II aged pretty well and is still a good game.

When he sold Impulse to Gamestop it didn’t make any sense to be Impulse exclusive.
I don’t believe Brad has said anything to that effect since the sale. But yeah, Galciv II is still a good game even though it’s a little long in the tooth.

Yes, I don’t think Brad waved any kind of flag since they don’t own or run Impulse, and unless they have an amazing exclusivity agreement with Gamestop it’d make no sense to not utilize Steam. I’m sure he knows how many people distrust or despise Gamestop.
Hey y’all, Gamefly is having nightly deals, which includes Crysis 2 for $10, Bad Company 2 for $10 and Dirt 3 (which I totally snagged) for $13.

Enjoy!
It is goofy, but I found the controls to be terrible. It seems like I remember the thrust being either all the way 100% or complete stop but I could be wrong. I know I gave it a try and still have it (I don’t trade anything in), but I think I remember the controls being the reason I gave up on it pretty quickly.
While it would be nice, I don’t expect this will ever happen.
However, if I log into the new Stardock store using my Impulse account details it has a list of the Stardock games I had on Impulse and their serial numbers. There is also the option to re-download GalCiv 1 and 2 so it’s possible now to get these without Impulse.

Does that load in Steam by any chance?
It’s not on The Big List.
Wow, Dungeon Defenders is already 75% off in today’s Steam deal.
Steam Daily Deal: Dungeon Defender. 75% off
I might be in a 4 pack if someone wants to organize one. But I have a funny feeling about this sale… it’s too cheap, too soon. Maybe a big complete pack coming up for Christmas with all the DLC?
There will be more DLC on a regular basis for at least another year, I’d bet.
Anyone have comparisons of Dungeon Defenders to Orcs Must Die? Is DD basically only worthwhile in multiplayer?

Too bad I already bought a 4-pack during the Thanksgiving sale at 50% off :( I actually still have a copy left over. lol.

No. It is the most noticeable difference between it and OMD though.
Orcs Must Die is a more traditional tower defense game where you have full control of the experience and each map plays very much like a puzzle. Each game is self contained. This is a big deal to some. A friend of mine didn’t like DD and much preferred OMD because he is more into the puzzle side of tower defense and just saw DD as “grindy”.
Dungeon Defends is a hybrid game. It has some tower defense, it has some diablo loot grinding, it has multiplayer, and it has persistence. Each map is less like a puzzle and more like… a map. But while playing it you may be there to level up your tower hitpoints, to find a new bow, or trying to get more mana so you can buy that new dragon pet. It feels less like a puzzle game and more like a wholly instanced co-op MMO that plays out in a tower defense/ shooter setting.
Both are very good, and very cheap. Get both and be done with it. I have logged equal hours solo in both I think, and a lot more in Dungeon Defenders multiplayer (since there is no MP in OMD). The amount of gameplay to be had out of DD is pretty nuts for the price. But seriously, get both if you are interested in either. You will spend more time reading posts like this than that time is worth in relation to the cost of the game.
