Hey y’all, I’m not a big tower defense fan, but I do love games like Gauntlet and such. DD looks like it has a bit of both, would it be worth getting?

Well it is like Gauntlet only in that you will be periodically swimming in baddies. But you don’t around too much nor take out generators. Its like Gauntlet in reverse I guess. The heroes are trying to keep the waves of monsters from overwhelming and destroying THEIR base/ “generator”. I guess.

But really, I have no problem recommending either DD or OMD to ANYONE who is interested. Both are fantastic games.

Done x2, woohoo

Is the DD DLC worth it too, if I’m going to pick up the base game?

Excellent, thanks for letting me know thatl

How in the hell did you know the combination to my luggage. I thought that was a secrete between myself and the TSA.

The Witcher (first one) is on sale for 2.50 at Gamersgate.

And now we know why the TSA folks wear latex gloves.

GOG has some stuff planned:

Looks like it’s week 2 of the gamersgate sale. Some quick highlights:
RUSE - $9
Drakensang: Complete Pack - $15 (also individually on sale)
Atom Zombie Smasher - $6.50
Precursors - $15
World in Conflict Complete - $6
Delve Deeper - $2.50
Lost Planet 2 - $10
Grand Ages: Rome Gold - $5

If their ‘50% off of games by blah blah and blah’ deal includes the three GK games, I’m so in.

If it does not, I am so not interested. :(

(Actually, depending on what Interplay and EA titles go on sale, I might be interested. Giants and Shogo for $3 each? Sure!)

GoG sales are boring since they are already priced cheap.

Game X $2.99 (regularly $5.99)!!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You’re kidding? You’re talking about bargain prices being slashed in half. Bargain shoppers eat up that stuff.

Also, aren’t quite a few $9.99? It’s hard to pay $10 for a ten year old game. That $5 sale price is much more tempting.

A good goal would be to not pay more than $5 for anything from Steam, Impulse, GOG, GG, and any other direct download outlets during the Christmas sales.

Individually, the GOG sales may not be impressive (saving $3 on a $6 game, how exciting!), but if you have a substantial wishlist, that small discount can accumulate very quickly (saving $30 on $60 of games). When they’re running a sale on one game only, I can see why that would fail to excite, but their larger sales are rich with deals to be snapped up at considerably lower prices than normal, and those small individual price differences can add up fast.

You really have no fucking clue what you’re talking about, do you? GTFO.

RUSE at $9 is still not low enough. :( I am pretty sure the community is dead for the game also. :(

It’s R.U.S.E.™. You lose part of the experience when you take out the periods and trademark symbol! And it is indeed the Steam Daily Deal for December 5th at $9.99 (67% off). If you visit its page you’ll at least be entered into Steam’s Daily Wishlist Giveaway.

Actually, I tend to feel the same way. I like GOG’s idea of bringing back classic games to the masses. But advancements in graphics, interfaces, gameplay, etc. makes many of these games better remembered than replayed. I’ve learned that the hard way with a few of these older games. So their catalog, while a great idea, doesn’t hold that much appeal for me.

In addition, GOG’s prices are usually low enough that sales aren’t that motivating. A 50% discount off of a $5 game doesn’t drive a lot of buying behavior. I’m all for game sales, but he doesn’t need to “GTFO” because he’s not motivated by saving only a couple of bucks…especially if you compare that with sales held by other online sites.
