I figured I’d lower myself to console gamer levels and dust off my Logitech Rumblepad to play Bastion. This emulator saved a lot of guess work and my gamepad works fine with Bastion now. I had to remap a few things like the Back button, but now I can wallow in the full filth of console gamers while playing Bastion. Nothing great about the gameplay but I’m loving the narration and music. Worth the $5.

Another cheer for that 360 controller emulator. I was about to buy a wired 360 controller today, but only found wireless one. Now I can save that money as well. And what’s up with a controller costing the price of a game?

I own Bastion on xbox (and loved it, my personal GOTY) but I can’t buy the soundtrack because it “requires” Bastion.

I’ve got so much enjoyment from that game I should probably just buy it again on PC with the soundtrack, they deserve the money…

EDIT: Don’t listen to the soundtrack before you play the game because there are soundtrack spoilers. (that link is not itself a spoiler).

Just a reminder that you can play up to level 20 in WoW for free, and that includes leveling multiple characters up to 20. I would guess if you buy the battlechest you could then apply the account code to your free account to convert it. That would be the way to get the most bang for your five bucks.

Also, you don’t get access to the worgen and goblin races until you buy Cata. And if you buy the mount you still need to pay for riding training (that’s in-game) and be the appropriate level to use it.

Need Christmas present bargain hunting help!

I’m getting my son some Xbox 360 (slim) accessories for Christmas. I’m looking at the following:

250GB Hard Drive for 360 Slim - best price found so far is $96 shipped from Amazon
Turtle Beach X12 headset - best price found so far is $55 shipped from Amazon
1600 Point Spacebucks card - best price so far is $20 shipped from Amazon

I’ve got about a week (till next Friday) to order these from wherever and insure they arrive in time for Christmas. If one doesn’t, it’s fine as his birthday is literally the day after Christmas, though we celebrate it New Year’s weekend to give the poor kid at least a week of separation between his gift hauls.

Anyway, if any Bargain Thread regulars happens to spot a deal on any of the above accessories in the next week or so, could you please post it here or shoot me a PM? The prices above are only a few buck off the norms, and every dollar I save is another dollar I can spend on games. Maybe even games for him… ;-)

I have deliberately left the game playing while I go do other things so I can listen to the soundtrack, (although you can buy it and find all of the tracks on youtube too).

As a result I accidentally found out that if you leave the game long enough the Narrator starts humming along with the music.

Goldeneye Reloaded is free for Xbox Live Gold members right now. Not sure why or if it’s a mistake, but my “purchase” went through without a problem.

I think he meant that you can’t buy the soundtrack through steam without also buying the game.

The amazing Bastion soundtrack is on MOG for sure and I think it’s on Spotify as well. I listen to it all the time.
