The joys of trying to get rid of physical inventory.
Does Brink have any sort of singleplayer at all?

There is a campaign mode, but from what I’ve played it was more like the multiplayer but with bots. There was also challenges you could play to unlock new content as well.
That works. For $5 even if it’s bots and challenges it’s good enough for a stocking stuffer for my son. Heck, once he’s done with single and multiplayer he can probably trade the thing in at Gamestop for half of what I paid for it.
You’re buying Brink as a Christmas gift for your gamer son? Maybe you should post that in the child abuse thread.
LET’S NOT START THAT SHIT AGAIN AAAHHH RAAAAGGEE

Poor kid. I felt like I was getting ripped off when I tried it over the free weekend. But getting it for Christmas? That would suck.

Har har. You guys are spoiled if you’re criticizing Brink as a kid’s stocking stuffer. I was always pleased to open a stocking and find a video game. Even if it was something I expected to suck, video games are/were always king in the excitement meter.
In my day it was an orange.

I once got a lump of coal. My Dad thought it was really funny. Also there were various large empty boxes all wrapped up nice.
I once got an arrow to the knee for Christmas, best thing that ever happened really, as it forced me to be a gamer. :p
Haha! It’s just a throwaway gift. His big stuff will be the hard drive, nice headset, Halo Anniversary, a couple of big Megabloks Halo models for his collection (he loves everything Halo), and some other junk. Brink is $5, so if he plays it for 2 hours, decides it’s awful, then takes it to Gamestop for a $2.50 credit it’s fine.
Brink is a solid game–don’t listen to these dweebs. It’s too bad it didn’t catch on more, because it’s one of the better multiplayer games I’ve played this year. It does have good bot AI, at least. For $5, I say go for it.
I could get a drab for a handful of grapes.
Daily deal over at GamersGate is Alpha Protocol for $3.99
Sold!
Done and done!
Over on Steam today’s daily deal is … is … is … not coming up … the timer for Oblivion has run down … is … is very late … is Left 4 Dead 2 for $5.
L4D2 is actually something that was on my wishlist and mysteriously disappeared and now I’m paranoid that despite the fact that I never shared my Steam wishlist with anyone someone went ahead and got it for me, so despite the fact that I’d otherwise totally buy it at this price, I’m not going to. Boo.

I believe you can purchase the game as a gift and store it in your inventory. If you don’t get the game, you should be able to give it to yourself. If you do get the game, you only spent 5 bucks, and you have something you can give or sell to a friend.

I just email the gifts to myself and forward the messages on when the time is right.
