They’re perfect, if you use a controller.
Download the demo from Steam and give it a try.

Yep they did, I’ve reconfigured all the keys to play just like any other rpg/action game, works great with the mouse/keyboard now.
The demo on my 2.4 Ghz duo, coupled with a Radeon 5770, is unplayable. I’d say around 5-10 fps. Of course you could just add it to your expanding backlog for when you upgrade.

Nice. In that case consider it sold.
Good call, I will give it a go.
Bummer. Oh well, maybe it will go in my extended deep-freeze backlog then.

Dungeon Siege 3 finally made it to $5, my what the heck price. Sold!
I think I’ll probably skip the $10 DLC. Heheh.
So I take it you guys already own Drakensang: River of Time?

Doesn’t register on steam. Great price, though.
I got it from this deal. Get to experience the Amazon downloader for the first time. Hmm, not spectacular.
I’d still give the demo a shot. I don’t recall trying very hard to downgrade the graphics options, and my PC isn’t necessarily the most representative these days, but it seems like it could have been better optimised.
Yeah, on Steam. Got it for cheap in the Summer Sale. Haven’t touched it!
I got DS3. Luckily I have a PS2-to-PC controller thing lying around here somewhere. If it’s any good I’ll grab it on the 360 for some same-screen coop with the girlfriend.

The current crop of GamersGate’s sales is going to be wiped out in about half an hour, and replaced with the new week’s deals. If there’s stuff in there you want, get it now.

Also, someone here wanted GOG to put the Gabriel Knight games at 50% off. Well, that just happened. Along with most of their catalog.
That was me and I’ve been waiting for this since they announced the big 50% off sale last Monday! Woo! The entire GK catalog for $9? Yes please!
Empire Earth: Gold is also free.

Man, I loved those GK games! Though I’m not sure if I could cope with replaying them today. Those graphics haven’t aged well.
Still waiting for someone to clear up the legal mess and have Jane Jensen make a new one! For now I should really dig out that copy of Gray Matter, which is gathering dust in my backlog…
The first one is all 2D, hand painted graphics and for the most part is pretty playable, if very low res. The second one will depend on your patience for grainy, unskippable FMV video. And the third one was ugly when it was released, so I can’t help you much there.

Like I said, I’d played and enjoyed all of them when they came out, so am familiar with the different technical styles the games where presented in. I suspect the FMV would be the toughest one to go through again. However the stories where so rich, it made you overlook the sometimes bizarre puzzles (eg cat-hair moustache…)
Is this Xbox 360 controller friendly?

Very. I’d say using a 360 controller is the only way to play the game on the PC.
