Your charm and wit are quite evident, sir.
played around 40 minutes of The Oil Blue, its quite fun, I must say without the indie sale I would have never even tried it.

There’s a pretty long thread on NeoGAF started by the developer of The Oil Blue talking about his experience as an indie dev, not making it onto Steam, etc:

Well, okay then.
Plankton is spelled wrong, hippies.
I only read part 4 of his summary, the 1year to date one.
And it was a good read , especially the parts regarding piracy.
I hope the bundle gets him a few more bucks, because as it sounds, he spent a lot of man hours for a very meager return in profit.
I am really enjoying the game btw. :)
You’re the first person to mention that. It is now fixed.
Here’s The Oil Blue’s Desura page which I couldn’t find by searching ‘oil’ because of the ‘the.’

I’m a cheap bastard. Do this 50% off thing again so I can buy it… I dare ya.
The original EE is OK - it’s all the sequels that were terrible. It’s no Rise of Nations, but for free, it’s worth looking at if you’re into Civ-RTS.
What does that mean? Valve has to approve a sale? WTF?

It’s their store, you don’t think stores should be allowed to control their own prices? That’s why stuff like MFG coupons and rebates exist, to sidestep retail prices.
Wait, what? The guy made the game. It’s his product. Surely it’s him who decides when a game goes on sale and for how much.

That’s not how it work, all they can do is supply a MFG suggest retail price, unless they’re Bose or some shit and come to some sort of agreement before hand.

Bought the Indie Royale bundle (first time there have been games I wanted I didn’t already own) for The Oil Blue. I had liked the demo, but couldn’t quite swallow the price. < $4.00 was much better! Looking forward to it. And I just signed up for Desura to check out Project Zomboid, so, yay!
You know how stores work, right?
Who the fuck is Bose? The speaker makers? Not sure if you meant boss, but then why would you have capitalized it. Where do you get your information from? Is it factual to say a developer/publisher can not set a specific price or percent discount for one of their games on Steam.
And this relates to Steam how exactly? Do they buy a number of licenses at a set price do they?

It’s factual to say that prices are set by retailers, and any mfg suggestions are implemented at the retailer’s discretion (signing a contract to such an effect as to give MFGs direct control over a product’s price at a particular store is at the retailers discretion, as an example). And yea, I meant Bose the speaker makers, they are notoriously protective of the pricing schemes surrounding their products, and will penalize stores that do not follow their pre-written agreements.
You’re talking to girl Foxstab. Just be happy Rachel didn’t fit some DLC rampage into the total cluelessness this time.
