You mean like this? The whole New Releases page is nothing but DLC. (Apart from a free to play game - just as bad.)

PS: Die!

That’s awesome. It’s comforting to know there won’t be any long boring lulls between new releases any more. Just about every single day I can wake up, look on Steam and find either entire new games, or just extra content for those tried and true gems I already love. It’s wonderful being part of a hobby so well supported.

Rumors, HIB4 soon: Bit Trip Runner, Cave Story+, Gratuitious Space Battles, Jamestown, Nightsky, Shank, and Super Meat Boy.

Bought although I have most of them on Steam already unless they pull another “only Steam codes” stunt like with the Frozenbyte bundle.
DRM free means -> “download install.exe” thank you very much!

I have half of those, but have been hoping for Jamestown to pop up in one of these bundles, and won’t complain about getting to check out Bit Trip Runner and Shank at the same time. Strange to see Nightsky show up again after it was just in the second Royale.

Reviews say TFU2 was just a short rehash of the first game but TFU: Ultimate Sith Edition for €5 should be a decent enough deal for the extended edition of a game that was kind of okay, judging by the demo. Also, Star Wars. Sold!

I really hope these bundles don’t end up backfiring and put people in the iOS mentality of never buying indie games unless they’re sold for pennies on the dollar. That is an incredible lineup, and I’m glad I bought most of those at regular prices, but it’s so tempting these days to pass on new releases and scoop them up for next to nothing a few months down the road.

You can buy AAA games alot cheaper months down the road too. In fact it makes more sense to wait on the AAA titles because you save more money, as AAA start at a higher price.

The reason so many don’t wait for AAA games is because the advertising and games media work us up into a frenzy of “must have the game now” so we’re willing to pay more.

To clarify this: The sale started on a weekend because of a spur of the moment decision that day. With the exception of tech support the Valve guys don’t work weekends so I couldn’t trigger an impromptu sale even if I wanted to because there was nobody there to set it up.

Simples.

Well with the exception of CaveStory+ I think most of those have been out for at least a year already. But please keep buying indie games at full price because every 2 $10 sales funds roughly 1 man hour of development after taxes etc.

Now I want to barf after seeing Sony’s trademarked “Free to Play. Your Way.” slogan. Thanks for nothing, Rachel Brown.

THQ UK’s going to have the Saints Row special on December 23-24th again. $24ish for the game and a DLC pass.

Two Worlds 2 for 7.50 USD at Gamersgate.

Dead Rising 2 for $15. Precursors also for $15 although that’s pushing it for non-genre-obsessives.

Is that the bundle with Trine and the two Shadowgrounds games? I was able to download installs for all three. Or am I misunderstanding?

Ain’t that the truth, I bought Dragon Age Origins when it first came out for $60.00 and just recently bought DAO Ultimate Edition for $20.00.

Basically twice the content for a third of the price, I got to start learning about patience when buying games, I almost always wait after buying a newly released game for a couple of big patches anyway(looking at Heroes VI).

I seem to remember that you needed to jump through some hoops to take advantage of that deal if you weren’t in the UK. How did that work?

Or does anyone in the UK want pick up codes for me? I can paypal money or do the same in the winter steam sale.

Okay, so that sounds like the game’s owner can make sales as they please. Weekends and such notwithstanding. These other people loudly proclaim that’s not how it works. One keeps mentioning MFGs and shit. As if EA or UBISOFT or Activision have to ask Valve’s permission if they want to discount a game. Crazy talk.

So we’re in agreement. This newish trend of ex-commercial > free-to-play games is getting overcrowded, just like the Indie packs. Buy some DLC if it will make you happy. There’s plenty of it. ;-)

When this same offer was up a week or two ago there weren’t any hoops for me. I’m in Canada and there was no trouble in just paying for it.
