Steam Daily Deal for December 16th is Magicka for $2.49 (75% off).

You can also get:

Magicka 4-pack: $7.49

Magicka + all DLC: $6.24

Seems like everyone bought that game, and it’s on sale for so cheap so often that I’m sure almost everyone on Steam will get it at some point, but I hardly ever see anyone actually playing it.

FTFY.

I know a lot of people with it, but it doesn’t work on any of their computers.

For anyone considering it: There’s this line in the requirements: “Integrated Video Cards not recommended”. Assume it won’t even start up if you have one - most computers use them. Try the demo first

Not on this forum. Good advice in general, though.

Cool, finally got all the DLC I was missing!

MSTSC would only work if he had Win 7 Pro/Ultimate.

I already have most of the DLC, and I still haven’t played beyond the first couple of levels. To be honest, I’m not sure if I even like the game that much. It doesn’t seem like it was really made for single player mode, even though one is included.

Yet I’m STILL tempted to get the remaining DLC. What’s wrong with me?

I can’t think of a single gaming computer that uses an integrated video card.

I agree. As a singleplayer experience it’s quite lacking. The fun is fucking around with your friends and ‘accidentally’ killing them, something Magicka excels at. Feel free to find me on Steam if you want.

M11x, which can have trouble with the switching to the 3d card.

Thanks. I might do that, one of these days, although at the moment I’m deeply engrossed in Revolution Under Siege.

STEAM has SHOGUN 2 for $9.99 (67% off) all DLC is also 67% off.

Getting the DLC as its priced according to what I feel its worth. :p

Any impressions of the DLC? Is it worth my time?

This got me to buy into Shogun, I was patient and now my patience is rewarded.

Now how far down do I place this in my backlog…

Ditto, $9.99 was enough to trip the switch / pull the trigger / whatever the whatever. But, of course, I have no intention of playing it anytime soon – Skyrim continues to monopolize my gamebrain. I mean, shit, I have only 74 hours into it on my first character (now level 38 or so), and I still have like half the map to explore… though my map is finally starting to fill up properly with “cleared” everywhere…

I knew it was going to happen and it did. I knew I should’ve waited but I couldn’t and I never ever did get around to playing Shogun. It’s not even like I have a backlog either. Maybe I will sometimes in 2012.

Well just picked up Planescape:Torment again from GOG on their 50% off sale.

Though I bought the game when it first came out, I never managed to get more than roughly a third of the way in.
I know how much this game is respected and praised in the gaming community for it’s excellent story, but the actual gameplay always left me bored in the past.
But I think it’s time to give it another serious go, I’m older now and have more patience with things in general so hopefully I’ll be able to stick with it and see why so many others really love this game.

You could probably forgo the gameplay and just read all the conversations somewhere on the web, because that’s really all the game is; save for the running around.

LOL that was my original take on the game, I’m hoping to move past that and see the magic.
