Just noticed Gatling Gears is on sale now for 400 points on XBLA, I think that may be for gold members only. I almost pulled the trigger on this one at 1200, so sounds like a good deal.

Sweet. That’s the 20% off discount I’ve been waiting for. Has it been confirmed if the retail serial# will activate the game on Origin?
Now to keep trolling for 20% deals on Rage & Skyrim.
Looks like the non-Gold price is now 800 points, down from 1200 when it was originally released. Regardless, that’s a lot of game play for $5 for Gold members.
Not really. DA:O was originally developed specifically for PC, and the 360 version only got introduced pretty late in the game, with some drastic gameplay compromises made. DA2 said, “fuck it” and introduced the drastic gameplay compromises at the design phase, resulting in a game that’s substantially the same on both platforms and really isn’t very good.

Worked for me this afternoon but seems like it isn’t valid any longer.

Steam deal of the day is Jamestown for $5.00. It’s a vertical scrolling shooter with a gentle learning curve and a wonderful premise (16th century colonization of Mars). There’s a thread here: http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?t=60137
Is there a rule for these Steam Deals of the Day? Is there at least one originally full-priced game sold per week? It really seems so, but it also seems like there’s ONLY one, and it’s been this way for a while. Is it on a specific day?
Your question confuses me, but:
There is a Steam deal of the day, usually a single game for a fairly significant discount. They also tend to run “midweek madness” sales where there may be one or two deals potentially across an entire franchise, and “weekend deals” starting on Thursday and running to 12 noon CST on Monday.
So today, there’s Jamestown as the DOTD, and the weekend deal of 50% off Warhammer 40K titles other than Space Marine (which isn’t out yet). Earlier this week, there were two concurrent midweek madness deals for Section 8 Prejudice and Prototype, but they’re over.
I think he means big-budget games which are rather rare so far on the daily deals.
I have no problems with that and already picked up quite a few of those deals so far.
Then again I’m for anything that helps indies / smaller games get some exposure as I’m tired of a lot of the big budget games.
Steam Daily Deal for August 22 is Combat Wings: Battle of Britain for $2.49 (50% off).
I’ve not noticed any trends for daily sales on big budget AAA games corresponding to any particular day of the week.

They tend to go on sale just after you’ve paid full price for them. I’m still waiting for the inevitable 5 dollar Postal 2 day.

You may have to wait a long time. I’m not sure anyone would pay full price on Postal 2.
I’m gonna assume he meant Portal 2.

Today’s Steam daily deal is Tidalis for $1.50 (85% off). A delightful puzzle game with boatloads of content for the asking price. Don’t be put off by it looking like a typical match-3 game, as there’s much more to it than that.
Average user review: four stars. What the hell?
Internet echo chamber. At this point, the only people motivated to comment on it are the big fans of it, and being put on a high-profile site attracts them all.
