Just a guess, but it probably requires you to create a new account (with a different set of contact info, just to be sure).
They don’t. They want you to use the download manager (which is actually different from the crappy Comrade program), but a window with a direct link to the download should pop up if you don’t have the download manger installed. Having said that, I don’t find the program particularly offensive. Alternatively, if you have Origin installed you can also just activate the DA2 key there and download with Origin.
(P.S. This advice is not an endorsement of any mentioned programs, just a statement of facts. I suffer so you don’t have to.)

For how long after purchase does Origin allow you to download the game? Forever like Steam I hope.
EDIT: Nevermind, D2D is only available in the UK & US.

Has anyone played enough of these games to have an opinion? All I’ve been able to see is that Troy Goodfellow didn’t much care for them, but I would be interested to see if anyone has a different view.
Every time I clicked on the download button, it tried to pull up a “comrade” URL link instead of http. I have Download Manager installed and I’ve used it for other downloads at D2D. I only see the one option for DA2 for some reason.
Steam Daily Deal for August 28 is Steel Storm: Burning Retribution for $2.49 (50% off). This is one of the two bonus games included as part of Humble Bundle 3.
Hey sorry but the refunded the money on the extra key. Got a email the next morning. But Thanks for the offers.
Might want to fix your link, Ned :)
I’ve played like the first two levels of the first Cossacks game. My belief is that they are absolutely impossible. After many tries, it took a walk-through to get through level 2.
I just gave up and never tried the series again. Does anyone know if it got any better?
I signed in with my regular gamersgate.com account, so I don’t know why it didn’t work for you too. My steam key also shows up when I log in to gamersgate.com.

Good of you to hold on to the old link for posterity Tracy! That way the rest of us can see what Ned is trying to keep from us…
Dude, Ned’s old hand-drawn maps are so awesome I’m hoping people click it by accident and investigate the thread he started about it. Seriously. Investigate.

You’re right-I must have entered my password incorrectly last time I tried it. I think im going to hold off for now. This isnt the first time Civ has been this cheap so it’ll go down again. I’m having too much fun with SMAC right now anyways.
Steam Daily Deal for August 29 is Numen: Contest of Heroes for $2.50 (75% off).
Note: link will go to actual game page, not to map for old Infocom game.
Thanks Ned. That game has been on my radar for awhile now, but my backlog was too full to bother spending real money on it. $2.50 though? Welcome to my backlog, (Seinfeld voice on) Numen (Seinfeld voice off).
Via Amazon.com, J&R Music & Computer World has Shadows of the Damned (360) for $37.99 + $2.99 shipping.

Tekken 6 Limited Edition with Arcade Stick for $35. Not sure why this is sticking around since it has to be a pricing error, but it’s worth grabbing this one for the stick alone.
