huh, guess it’s my bad for listening to other posters and not testing it myself. I was told it wouldnt unlock for me and I didn’t even load steam for a few days…

I also got my code for Deus Ex Human Revolution in plenty of time to pre-load from Steam in the U.S. GMG is two for two so far for me.

So, what is the prediction for a sale time and price point for Sims Medieval?

I am thinking $23.99 might be good for now, but there has not to my knowledge been a Steam sale on the game yet.

This is another one I’m waiting to hit <$20. In fact, since by from what I’ve been hearing, it’s more a costume pack etc. kind of thing than a full-bore game-changer like Ambitions for Sims 3 was, I’ll be waiting for $9.99.

Edit: I’m talking about the expansion, not the main game. The main game is good for anything less than $30, I think. It’s not bad at all.

Me too. DX:HR was especially nice since there was some “official” word that GMG codes wouldn’t allow pre-loading. I think with Dead Island everyone was caught off guard with the response to the game (good word of mouth, some good early reviews) and they didn’t anticipate needing the number of keys they did. Even if they’ve had some hiccups I’ve been extremely impressed with the responsiveness and openness of GMG’s feedback.

Sims: Medieval (download version) hit $25 on an Amazon Daily Deal a number of months back, so I’d watch for a similar deal especially now that the expansion is out.

It was $10 for about an hour before Amazon jacked the price back up. Now that was a sale.

Yeah, me too. GMG 4tw etc.

I am really wanting to kkeep my games in one place as often as possible. So unless it it $20 somewhere, I think I am going to wait for the inevitable Steam Deal.

I am trying to be patient, but I think Amazon will be around for a bit, so I might grab it there if a similar deal pops up…even $25 seems way less than $29.99. The psychology of consumer views on pricing fascinate me as I cannot really explain why I buy different things at price points that are only marginally different.

No deal yet, but it looks as if Skyrim finally made it to D2D. It’s previously only been available via Steam or B&M shops. So I’m keeping an eye out for discount coupons at direct2drive.

I’m not really sure why, but games like Skyrim, Dragon Age I/II and the Total War series all fall into the category of “won’t buy digitally” for me. I can’t really explain it other than to say that those are games I know I will revisit many times over the years, and as such I’m just more comfortable with a physical retail box copy sitting on a shelf. Ironically that turned out to be a good thing in the case of Dragon Age.

Maybe I’m just old and this is my last little desperate clutch of the security blanket that is retail boxed copies I suppose. Anyway, back to the bargain discussions, sorry for the interruption.

See and I’m the opposite. Because I want to revisit them in the future, I want them in the cloud opposed to my often disorganized house. Also honestly I think that pricing is more favorable now because of the cloud. If publishers were still relying as much on boxed sales I don’t think we’d be seeing the discounts we see.

I am curious as to what this was a good thing for DA? I am not disagreeing with you because i picked up DA:O and ME2 in a box, but all my saved games whine at me if i click play too soon and it hasn’t hooked up with EA remotely yet.

Steam Daily Deal for September 13th is Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!™ for $4.99 (50% off).

Since skyrim is a steamworks game, you’ll get it both ways anyway.

Not games, but hardware!

My middle click died yesterday while playing Dead Island! RAWR!
So I check my email this morning and I have eggmail! :D

The Egg has some great logitech deals on today:

Logitech G110 Black USB Wired LED Backlighting Gaming Keyboard
$49.99

Logitech G9x Black Two modes scroll USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
$49.99

Logitech G500 10 Buttons Dual-mode Scroll Wheel USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
$39.99

I went with the G9x mouse and the G110 keyboard.
Reviews said the G500 is an awesome mouse, but I don’t like the graphic texture on top.

For gaming (even casual), Razer makes the best mouse I’ve ever used. I personally like the Deathadder. I highly recommend it.

That looks like a great mouse. However, does that logo and the wheel glow? Please don’t tell me it glows. I can’t stand having that kind of crap in my room when I’m trying to sleep.

It glows, but you can turn the glow off in the mouse control panel.

Really! Awesome. Definitely picking it up, thanks!
