I liked the first one, but the demo for 2 dragged. Amazed it came down in price so fast. Not sure how it was received compared to 1 which was a bit of a sleeper hit.

That is an excellent price. I bought it for $10 not all that long ago (Steam X-mas Sale maybe?) and it was worth that easily. If you liked the first one, you’ll like KA2. It’s got the same beautiful art direction, music and UI design as the original. Gameplay is similar but a little better implemented this time around, and the battles are larger with more fantasy elements than the original game.

My only word of caution would be the system requirements. You’ll need a decent system with a 64-bit OS to play this game at anything less than a crawl and to keep from crashing to desktop. I have a quad-core Athlon II, Win7-64, 8GB of RAM and a 5500-series video card and it runs fine for me, so you don’t need a bleeding edge system, just something that can keep up with a heavy framerate load.

Thanks for the tip. I really liked the first one, especially the text adventure aspect, so I’ve actually been waiting for a good deal on this.

Thanks for the heads-up! I may pick up Singularity since I have a friend who worked on it and have been meaning to check it out.

The price was so low I had to mention it, even though I don’t intend to get it myself.

I really want a 64-bot OS! Jealous!

If anyone buys this, let me know if it fires right up with the Heroes 3 HD utility. I tried to use that with my disc version but it didn’t run. Rather than waste time debugging I figured I’d get the GOG version on sale for $5 sometime. I’ve heard it works out of the box. If the GG version works too I’ll get that instead.

Those 64-bot systems take up so much SPACE. Between that, the Gordian Knot wiring to connect them, and the fission plant needed to power them, it’s just not a feasible option for many of us.

The worse is when when you get a virus and one of the bots unleashes a missile on the mailman. Talk about paperwork…

You are both just jealous of my kick ass operating system as seen below…

I was totally unaware of this Heroes 3 HD util. Holy cow, how awesome.

The HD version has GOG settings, and works right out of the box. Highly recommended.

GamersGate has Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI for $6.78

Well worth it. I wish the expansion had been released in the States.

They also have Crusader Kings 2 at 40% off and Football Manager 2012 at 70% off. I believe FM 2012 requires Steam

Unstoppable Gorg is $2.50 on GamersGate.

sadly DRM free, I’d prefer it on Steam. :)

That’s… depressing.

Actually the GG summer sale has quite a few good offers that would appeal to people on thisforum, including a few oldies at a low price, e.g, Victoria Complete and The Guild Gol.d. People will probably find their own favourites with a few minutes browsing,

Sleeping Dogs over @ GMG is still on sale for $36

use code : PCGMR-GREEN-SUMMR *The voucher is valid until 23:59 BST on Thursday 16th August 2012 and can only be used on PC download titles.

I used the code to get Darks Souls for $32 instead. :)

Similar experience here… I ordered Driver: San Francisco, set it for store pickup, but the store failed to actually find a copy. After a couple of tries, I now have a call center person calling my not-so-local Best Buys to try to find a store that can really actually put their hands on a copy.

This is not the first time I’ve had problems with Best Buy store pickup. As far as I can tell, the weak link is getting their low paid floor workers to actually find what you ordered. Easier to report “couldn’t find it” and move on with their day.

I had the same problem with BB’s last sale, had to get the game shipped to home. I hope you can find Driver, Wade, it’s amazing!
