Okay, here’s a “We all like free, right?” situation that might get a resounding “NO!” in response.

Digital Download of Assassin’s Creed for free. Unfortunately, you do have to install the UPlay bullshit client on your PC to get it.
And it wants my personal information too. Just too much effort.
StarShatter has gone open source and is available as a free download here.
Yay Starshatter! What a great game!

Gamefly has Jagged Alliance:Crossfire for $10. I understand it’s a stand-alone campaign using the Back in Action engine.
Since I never bothered to get BiA, even after it was improved and FoW added, is it worth it at this price?
My concern is not having the money, it’s having the time.
I doubt anyone knows. It just came out. You might try the Jagged Alliance BiA thread or look for reviews online and let us know. I’m short on time as well so I hope it’s a quick alternative to playing BiA.
Not available in my region :(. It says here that in can only be purchased in North America.
It’s been open source for a while. Unfortunately, the last time I checked, the only real modding done to it was in terms of graphic effects. I don’t think some of the critical stuff (like wingmen who can’t land without crashing) have been fixed. Although I admit I haven’t followed development after an initial sniff a few months back.
GMG does not want to make any profit this holiday weekend!
Labor Day Discounts Coming Soon
Check out What’s New to see the latest titles that have come to Green Man Gaming, including Dishonored, Tiny Troopers, Starvoid and many others! As an added bonus, we’re putting out a 25% code to mark Labor Day in the United States. But that’s no reason everyone else can’t use the code, too:
GMG25-LABOR-DAYGO
This code is valid for use from 1100 UTC Sunday September 2nd until 1100 UTC Tuesday September 4th.

Fuck. Dishonored for $45? But maybe late? Fuck.
We can buy it together and play BF3 for a few more days instead.
Then you’ll rush out to get it early and I’ll feel jilted.
Oh I asked on the GMG forums, they are pretty sure NA will get keys on release day. The 8th.
How sure are we that Dishonored is going to turn out to be a GOTY-contender?
The way I’m looking at it: if it doesn’t end up as a GOTY-contender, I want to be there to form an opinion as it goes down in flames.
Are they trying to pull in a bunch of money on preorders before they go out of business or something?? This is crazy.
Thanks for this. I enjoyed the demo, but I don’t know if my motor skills are good enough to get through the whole game so $3 bucks is a great price. :)

Oh, we aren’t, but if we want to prowl through a crumbling nineteenth-century metropolis powered by whale oil (and good God, I do!), it’s really the only game in town.
Tim: Deal!
Just noticed Amazon has the Square Enix “Ultimate Collection” on sale again. It’s the one that include Just Cause 2, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Kane and Lynch 2, Supreme Commander 2 and Tomb Raider: Underworld. They all unlock on Steam for $9.50.
Probably because last weekend was the holiday weekend in the UK :).
I had just learned of StarShatter becoming open source and know absolutely nothing about the game. Thanks for the information about the critical stuff.
