Never, ever, EVER can $60 be considered a “Crazy good” deal for any number of games. EVER.

I played it on a Unisys mainframe, along with a test based golf game, whose name I forget.

Really? Not for 20 high quality AAA games? How about 25? 30? I mean, I wouldn’t consider this particular deal all that great, but even with a high buy in, there comes a point at which the per-game price sinks so low as to be a crazy value.

Yeah, I was exaggerating, sorry. When the per-game price drops below a few dollars, “crazy good” is possible.

I already own 2 in that particular bundle (Gal Civ 2 and Demigod) anyway, so it doesn’t work for me. But, if I didn’t own any of them, $60 is still too much (IMHO).

I figure it’s 20 dollars for Galciv 2, Sins of a Solar Empire (Rebellion), Demigod and Political Machines. So, 5 dollars per game, plus regular price for Fallen Enchantress.

I’m thinking, that is a good deal. Maybe I’m wrong, or maybe you are too poor. Now, I already have 2 of the games, so I’m skipping it myself, but if you don’t have any of these games, than 2 things.

  1. They are good games and a good price.
  2. Why the heck don’t you have any of these games already? You must be a terrible terrible person, and correct your sinful ways, and get some of these games.

LOL - well, I can certainly agree with #2.

I think perhaps you’re running up against a bunch of people - including myself - who are not terribly keen on spending full price for a game, so we divide the allotment of dollars more evenly. What’s more, the particular games won’t appeal to everyone: Galciv 2 is old and Political Machines is only for a very specific niche (fwiw, I liked it but it eventually wore out its welcome), so many people will discount those automatically. Demigod, as someone noted above, has a desolate MP userbase so those who are into the whole MP scene will discount that one. That leaves someone with Rebellion (edit: sorry, Rebellion development studio, “SoaSE: Rebellion” - don’t sue me!! … dumbasses) and Fallen Enchantress for $60. Mind you, even with such a constrained view of the offer, that’s STILL a good deal for someone looking to spend that much on a game or two. Both of those are truly excellent and I’d say you’ll get more than your dollars’ worth with each.

It is a good deal. It is not a “crazy good” deal by any means, though.

Maybe I’m wrong,

I think so.

or maybe you are too poor.

No, that’s not it, but what a messed up thing to say.

It’s Brad, he has some control issues.

Perhaps this wasn’t directed at me, so if not, ignore. But,

Galciv2 & Sins: ok, $5 each is reasonable
Demigod & PolMach: worth less than $5 each given their age and target audience
Fallen Enchantress: Not worth $40 unless you’re a fan and are enthusiastically awaiting release, which I am so very very not. If it turns out to be fantastic, I can wait for a “bargain” (ie - NOT “regular price”)

And yes, I am, always have been, and expect to remain “too poor” unless a wealthy distant relative who loved me as a cute, cuddly child dies suddenly with no other remaining heirs… one can hope… no, wait, I mean, not for death, just … money… (sigh)

Steam has Cubemen on sale for $1.99 until the 28th.

Cubemen looks neat, thanks for the heads up!

Death to Spies: Moment of Truth is $3.74 on GamersGate today. It’s a sweet Hitman-style stealth game set during World War 2. Good stuff.

I really liked Death to Spies: Moment of Truth once I got into it. That first level is a total beast though compared to most of the levels. The level itself is massive and the enemy count blows Hitman out of the water, there are tons of them. There is a timed sequence in the first level too IIRC, so if you do the objectives in the wrong order you can screw yourself over. I enjoyed the game enough to complete it, but that first level should of been one of the last levels instead.

Wargame: European Escalation is $13.60 on Steam right now. But then again, Battle Realms is $10 on GOG… or Etherlords for $6. (Those aren’t sales, to be clear).

As if it wasn’t a great deal already they just added 4 more titles to the Humble Bundle including Gratuitous Space Battles and Jamestown. This has to be the best Humble Bundle ever (if you don’t already have most of the games which unfortunately I do).

They also added the soundtracks to those games as well. Bonus!

If anyone likes turn-based war, Gamersgate has the Wastelands Strategic Bundle for $17 (that’s 66% off). The bundle contains WW2: Time of Wrath, Storm over the Pacific, and Strategic War in Europe. I thought that’s a pretty good deal. Also note that Storm and Wrath have 80% discounts at the moment if you’re not interested in the third game.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, a tactical/puzzle strategy game set in space, is $4 on GOG today.

Gamestop/Impulse is selling Sleeping Dogs for $30. Steamworks.

The Dragon Ages for $10.

The Krondors for $5.

Wow that’s an amazing deal! Of course I just bought all 3 of those games in July for about $45. Definitely recommend it.

Apparently Google is having a bunch of 25 cent apps coming up over the next few days. I’d be obliged if people could update us about them here.
