It’s supposed to come out later this year. $30 for preorders and then it’ll bump up to $49, and they’ve got no plans to sell it outside their own site. Game’s site.

That’s been the story all year. Mostly I’m concerned that it just went into Alpha (as per the developers) a couple of weeks ago.

That’s frustrating. If I buy it now and it sucks, then I’ve spent $30 for nothing. If I don’t buy it now and it’s great, then it’s $50 with little chance that it’ll drop in price. I hate preorders, especially preorders for a game from an untried company just dipping its toes into the digital waters.

Anyone else having trouble buying things from GMG? I’ve always used Paypal in the past but it’s failing after going through the Paypal login (not authorized or some crap).

On a whim, I tried one of my Visa cards but that didn’t work. Wasn’t really expecting it too since I know lots of people have issues with it being a foreign transaction. Really anxious to grab Dishonored for $35 (after 25% and my Xcom credit).

When I went to buy XCOM I made it all the way to Paypal and then it said it wasn’t authorized. I kept trying, but the website just turned to crap after that and I kept getting errors or time outs. Ended up giving up and going to bed. Next day I wake up, check my mail, and there is an email from GMG sent at the time I first tried it with my CD key and everything.

Capcom’s cynicism behind Off The Record is probably why everyone forgot about it. “Hey, we’ll release the exact same game as DR2, only we’ll switch out the main character and make a few tweaks to the game that should have been patched into DR2. And we’ll charge full price for it. AWESOME.”

Might pick up Cargo Commander. Was originally planning on keeping my $10 GMG credit stashed away for future Skyrim DLC but Cargo Commander looks kinda neat. And since it has a publisher it might possibly not show up in an indie bundle for three cents.

I am slightly pissed at GMG for not giving me the $10 GMG credit for preordering XCOM because of it not available in my Region! Any other guy I know in QT3 who is not in US got it, why not me?

I have no idea what Faerie Solitaire is, but you can get it for free on Steam. Probably they’re trying to increase the installed base for an upcoming sequel, and they’re promoting the new Mac release.

There’s an EA Sale on GoG. All the classics: Ultima, Wing Commander, Crusader, Populous, Dungeon Keeper.
