FYI guys the plan is to bring Amalur back again in November for at least a 24 hour sale, maybe longer.
I got lucky and bought the pack for the sale price off a guy on CAG who bought the Amazon pack and then realized he already had the game. lulz.

Sunday is a triple Sony station cash day. If you buy a $15 station cash card it gets you $45 worth of points. If you buy a $15 card at Walmart it should say on the front of it that it comes with a bonus 500 station cash so when tripled you get the equivalent of $60 in points. I hate point cards too, but they seem to be a necessary evil these days and if you can exploit the sales when they come along you might as well do so…

My kids play FreeRealms, so this is a huge deal since station cash can apply to membership. Thanks for the heads-up.

I know I don’t have time to play it these days, but I’m still so tempted by the Microsoft store’s Halo 4 $25 credit. That means if I don’t buy it tonight or tomorrow, I’d better not plan on buying Halo 4 until it hits at least $35 on a sale somewhere.

Nah, more like $47.50. It’s not like the credit will magically give you cash, you’ll still be buying some other game at full price (since it has to be used at the MS store). So you’ll be spending $120-$25 = $95 for two games.

Actually, since the MS store has such frequent credits, like Amazon, I could see it going on perpetually. For Forza Horizon I got a 1600 points card ($20) plus a $10 credit. I could use the $10 credit on Halo, then use the $25 credit from Halo on the next big game at release, which would have its own credit for the next game, etc. The key is to only count the discount once, not twice. So I consider it on the current game, always, in my head, instead of the following game. So in my head, Forza Horizon was $30 new, Halo 4 would be $45, the next $60 game would become whatever discount came with that one, etc.

Also concerning Halo 4, check out this crazy shit. If you tie an American Express card to your Xbox Live account and pick up Halo 4, you get $10 (£10 in UK) credited to your Amex account. And if you get the achievement for finishing the single player game you get an additional $25(£25 in UK) credited to your account. For the first time in my life, I now wish I had American Express.

I wish more game sellers did this because I finish almost every single game that I start playing; unless it turns out to be just a terrible game that I never should have started in the first place e.g. Deux Ex: Human Revolution.

Well, actually I did finish Deux Ex: Human Revolution, but I wish I hadn’t. That game was a total waste of time. I just kept hoping something good would happen it just never did.
