Steam have MtG: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 at half price It’s a pretty good PC version of the card game, even if it’s not as good as the classic Microprose version from the '90s.

How necessary/enjoyable are those myriad DLC addons? If they bring something substantial to the table, I’d rather wait for a complete package deal.
Only the expansion is real dlc. The rest are unlocks you can earn through gameplay, and weird looking graphical effects for several cards. Those are basically “Look at me, shiny!”. I don’t know if they’ve fixed this with the 2013 version, but in 2012 and earlier shiny cards were broken on a large amount of computers… making it impossible to read the description/ability text.

Minus another $10 with my XCOM purchase credit from a few weeks back and…yay :)
I’m pretty sure the relevant annual version of MtG is always in the Steam Holiday sale as a package and/or at 75% off, which shouldn’t be too far off.

Bingo. Yes, that is what I am asking.

Thanks. Guess I’ll hold out for that possible sale package.
The sale makes the game super cheap. But if you mean “Is it worth it?” then maybe go no farther than the out of eight review: http://www.outofeight.info/2011/10/dawn-of-fantasy-review.html

The review is more than a year old, could be given the nature of the MMORTS game, the devs might have fixed whatever complaints the reviewer had.
Lego Lord of the Rings is on Green Man Gaming for 22.50 after the 25% discount for a preorder. Steamworks.
Given the Lego games history, this ought to be brilliant.
Yeah, hopefully someone here has more recent info, but that’s all I could find. It looked cool so I went doing my own lookup and thought I’d share.
Maybe, although RPS didn’t think much of the demo.

Gamefly.com is showing that Bioshock is free today, as long as you use their Steam-Alike client after you ‘purchase’ it. Their client is an Adobe AIR app that you can find on the gamefly site.
I bought it by clicking on the link that is teasing this sale on the main page, here:
http://www.gamefly.com/download-games/
I think you can do the same thing at this page, also:
http://www.gamefly.com/Download-BioShock/150930/
Clicking the button adds it to a ‘cart’, which you then have to ‘check out’ from.
It did ask for credit card info, so be warned!
I have yet to test out downloading/installing from the Gamefly client, but i did confirm that I can load the client and see Bioshock in the ‘Games’ list.
That’d be the same Gamefly that still hasn’t made all of my Direct2Drive purchases available to me, 11 months after they took over D2D.
Fuck those guys.
No way am I giving Gamefly my credit card info.
If anyone likes turn-based war, Gamersgate has the Wastelands Strategic Bundle for $17 (that’s 66% off). The bundle contains WW2: Time of Wrath, Storm over the Pacific, and Strategic War in Europe. I thought that’s a pretty good deal.
http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-WLSB/wastelands-strategic-bundle-bundle
Desura has some of those on sale too (75% off):

I’m pretty much of the opinion – no offense to the folks posting the info – that there should be a blacklist of GameFly mentions in bargain threads simply because of the bullshit mentioned above (of which I have also bitched about several times). Fuck you, GameFly. Where’s my games?
Amazon did the same thing with the Reflexive / Game Center Solution service they purchased. Closed with a month or three warning to download everything.
The download everything “solution” is still execrable, but I can understand and work with it.
But before D2D died, I downloaded everything I purchased from them. The problem is the authentication behind the games. I have the license keys for everything I downloaded, but GameFly didn’t update the authentication backend for many of them, hence a bunch of useless downloads.
So fuck GameFly. I would like to see “Fuck GameFly” on a Qt3 tag cloud.
