Er? Last January they were good about matching Steam sale prices, so we ended up with gems like Civ 4 Complete and Civ 5 for $5 each. There were also a good number of games on sale on their own.
Most of these Walmart deals are matched online depending on platform: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&docId=1000853511
will net you GT5 XL and Ratchet and Clank Collection. GMG/Amazon can grab you Max Payne for PC, and Amazon digital has a bundle with LA Noire Complete, GTA 4 Complete, and GTA San Andreas for $15.

I’d be down for a couple if it hits as a daily or flash deal.

This is sold out already.

One of the best RPGs of the last years. I enjoyed the first Drakensang, but TRoT is much better.

Brilliant game. I can’t recommend it enough if only for burning of some steam here and there by chopping off heads etc. :)
Be forewarned, it’s not just a simple hack and slash. Skill really plays a part and there is a counter to everything.

I can’t get a single damn transaction to go through Steam.
According to Steam, I got 57 hours of pure enjoyment out of Drakensang: River of Time. $5 is a steal for one of the best RPG’s in recent memory.

Slightly off topic:
TRoT is not available in all countries. You can vote for it on Steam Greenlight.

Hate to sound picky for a $5 game, and I know there’s a thread for the game here somewhere… but what exactly makes it “one of the best” in recent years? Thanks in advance.
Keeping eyes peeled for a break on BF3 Premium. I have no idea why, as I’m horrific at MP FPS play.

If you’ve toyed with the idea of a Vita then this is the deal to get (Amazon):
White Vita
Assassin’s Creed Liberation
4GB Memory Card
30 day of PS+
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
$10 gift card for AC3 on 360/PS3
$179.99
For those of you toying with grabbing Max Payne 3 for cheap, Steam has now joined the party. $15 for the base game, $7.50 for the DLC package, $20 for all.
The DLC is all multiplayer content, for what that’s worth. Apparently there was a lot of cheating at launch. I don’t know if it’s been resolved.

Amazon has Mists of Pandaria for $15 or the Collector’s Edition for $60 (normally $40 and $80, respectively).

Hmm, and is the DLC worth adding on for another $2.50?
Cool, but Gamestop/Impulse has never accepted my CC. Works everywhere but there. No one I’ve spoken to can figure out why.
Now that they’re collecting tax + shipping, it’s actually more expensive than just to wait until tomorrow and get the download for $20 from Blizzard.

True, I know those deals will be there for the taking tomorrow as lightening deals. My experience with those is that they go too fast though. Any lightening deal I really really want at amazon is always gone the moment my browser refreshes. So I thought maybe it would be nice to try first at Walmart, and then for those that I can’t get, I can still try for the lightening deals tomorrow.
As for the bundle with LA Noire, I own all the other games in that bundle already so for me its just LA Noire for more than what’s at Walmart. And I wanted Max Payne 3 on 360. I rarely get to play on PC and when I do I’d rather play Dishonored these days and then Fallout New Vegas after that.

That’s hard to describe - is “lack of weaknesses” a feature? ;)
It’s a party based game with RTwP combat. Character development is based on the massive The Dark Eye / DSA tabletop system. The game implemented ca. 25% of it, which is enough for a CRPG. One character can be generated, the rest of the party is collected on the way.
The world is colourful and full of details. But: light, nice and friendly - at least most of the time. Graphics and interface are polished, TRoT is a quite a beautiful and comfortable game, given that it’s a relatively complex Euro-RPG. The pace is relatively slow, as can be expected from this kind of game. The characters are interesting, the story is told in an entertaining way, everything blends nicely into the world.
There’s not much unnecessary walking (quick travel to known locations), overlong dungeons and filler combat have been avoided or reduced, the game is relatively short (ca. 30 hours).
The only weaknesses I can think of now are the average combat, the slowish character development - DSA is incredibly deep, but it takes a couple of levels to open up - and the usual slight camera problems all party RPGs have.
So the main strengths are that TRoT is short, entertaining and to the point, exotic, polished and doesn’t do anything obviously wrong.
