Be careful - some places give you a Steam key on KAII, some don’t. I think Gamersgate is one of the ones that don’t. And I won’t swear this is still true, but I recall that the non-Steam versions were lagging behind on patches, which the game sorely needed at launch.

Torchlight 2 is $9.99 on steam today.
Steam has more of my money.
Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition: $7.49
Orcs Must Die 2 - Complete Pack: $6.24
Pulling the trigger. I made noises about being involved in a 4 pack with someone upthread, but now I can buy up front!

Ahh damn, there’s Dishonored for 50% off too. Nice. OK, that’ll do for today then…

4 pack is $7.50 each now. Probably just pick it up at the single price and not do the 4pack.
I could do 2 of a 4 pack if someone is organizing.

While Dishonored is definitely on my radar, my backlog is so crazy big I’m going to wait on this. I already bit on Sleeping Dogs (the crazy good price + coupon from GMG), and the Max Payne pack from Amazon, too. I’ve been playing the hell out of Sleeping Dogs for the last few days and loving it.

I’m region locked out of the Batman: Arkham City GOTY at 7.50 USD. Oh well given my backlog, I think I can probably survive not getting this one.

Yeah, I grabbed Max Payne 3 as well and it’s been … kinda fun, so far. Very much on rails though and the combat feels a little janky for some reason. Maybe I’ve been away from Max Payne too long. I find myself staring at the ‘you died’ screen a lot with “WTF?” rolling off the tip of my tongue…

It is still beta? I thought it was released. Yeah I was asking to see if it was in a good state. I remember the original I played on the Amiga. I would be very interested in a good working, modern version, especially with random maps. Hopefully they will get those patches done soon. I do not want to buy it until it is fixed although if it is cheap enough it might be a buy it and wait, as long as they are actively working on it and that “someday” it will be done right.

Wish me luck. I’m going to buy Arkham City GOTY for the cheap DLC and try to transfer my original savegame. Someone figured out how to hex edit the save game to get it to work with (fucking) Games for Windows Live.

Why not just buy the DLC itself?

As someone who has put over 40 hours into the game and beat it on every difficulty, I can say that it’s just hard. I found it the exact opposite of janky, though.
Just remember: shoot the guys in the head. Don’t bother to shoot them anywhere else unless you are desperate (which happens often!)

It was released. That’s why it’s on steam sale. The patches are what’s in beta.

I was interested in this too, but i think the general opinion is that it is just broken on release. A game based around macro-managing a small squad of vehicles that has little to no vehicle AI. Ordering vehicles to go somewhere easy looking only to have them drive in circles forever.
I don’t know if this changed, but i followed it for a while and i never heard of it being fixed. Not sure you can realistically fix such astoundingly bad AI.
This is the only reason i didn’t buy it on the steam sale, because it sounds like an eternal alpha release.
So the Sunset Invasion DLC for Crusader Kings II is $1.24 over at Impulse/Gamestop, 75% off. That’s the what-if scenario where the Aztecs invade Europe. The DLC came out ten days ago.
Ah ok, I found an example with Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion, which was on sale for only one day during the last summer sale:

I probably forgot about it because the daily discount was not enough to bother with. I have a huge backlog, so it’s gotta be at least 75% or else I wait for a better sale before adding it to the pile. :)
Last summer sale was particularly annoying, where Jade Empire, which hadn’t gotten any kind of discount in years, got a weeklong discount of 50%. It didn’t get a daily or flash, so I broke down on the last day of the sale and bought it. Then day after the summer sale ended, Steam makes it the daily for 75% off. Burnnnnn.
